A friend used my network and now my IP is blocked, I just wanted to edit a few articles... Maatallah22 (talk) 10:32, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
And your friend just happens to have a username with "22" at the end, just like you? -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:44, 26 November 2011 (UTC) struck because it's stale -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:32, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Actually, this is looking a little strange - ThePookster22 was blocked back in July, and Maatallah22 was editing other articles as recently as 11 minutes before this unblock request - perfectly good edits, I should add. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:51, 26 November 2011 (UTC) Struck comment as this editor, sadly, was creating nonsense -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:14, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Exactly, I don't understand why I'm being banned when I'm only creating good edits, while someone else tries to ruin Wikipedia.. Maatallah22 (talk) 11:55, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is curious - if I check the links in the unblock template, it says there are no autoblocks on this account, and also that there are no active blocks on the IP address 70.173.209.81. Are you sure you can't edit articles? -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:30, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, when I try to edit something a big box appears at the top of the edit screen, It looks like this:

"You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia due to an autoblock affecting your IP address.

This is because someone using this internet address or shared proxy server was blocked. The ability of all users on this IP address to edit pages has been automatically suspended to prevent abuse by the blocked party. Innocent users are sometimes caught in an autoblock. It may be the case that you have done nothing wrong.

A user of this IP address was blocked by Gogo Dodo for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "ThePookster22". The reason given for ThePookster22's block is: "Vandalism-only account". This block has been set to expire: 10:36, 27 November 2011. Note that you have not been blocked from editing directly. Most likely your computer is on a shared network with other people." Maatallah22 (talk) 12:38, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Try logging out and logging in on the secure server (you'll find it down below the fill-in boxes on the login screen. But I am interested in the similarity between the two names. You are Maatallah22, the blocked user is ThePookster22. Does your friend edit Wikipedia too? Peridon (talk) 13:48, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
There is an autoblock related to ThePookster22 (autoblock) - yes, please tell us what the relationship between the two users is. —DoRD (talk) 18:30, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
That still looks curious to me - Gogo Dodo blocked ThePookster22 on July 24, and ThePookster22 has not been unblocked and therefore has not edited since. But the autoblock is from Gogo Dodo on November 26 at 10:36, because "your IP address was recently used by "ThePookster22"", which it surely can't have been? I'll ask Gogo Dodo for assistance -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:27, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
My friend made an account a while back to see if he could ruin a few articles, and he got banned. I was just editing articles yesterday and all of a sudden got autoblocked. He couldn't have logged onto my network, because he wasn't at my house, plus his account is banned, so he couldn't of done anything anyway. Maatallah22 (talk) 21:40, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
"A friend used my network and now my IP is blocked,"?? Peridon (talk) 23:17, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well the block expired so there is no issue now. You guys take this a little too seriously though.. Maatallah22 (talk) 10:55, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

November 2011 edit

Do not create, add, or restore hoaxes to Wikipedia, such as you did with the article Lightstone Park. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. Thank you. —DoRD (talk) 13:37, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

Sorry, but your creation of the hoax article Lightstone Park, coupled with your association with the blocked vandal ThePookster22 (who, curiously, also blamed a friend), leads me to conclude that either the two of you are the same person, you are working together to disrupt the project, or that this is a compromised account. If you wish to honestly come clean and request an unblock, please use the {{unblock}} template (but please read the guide to appealing blocks first) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:24, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
