February 2022

Hi Lpro93! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Roger Woodward that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Hello. Your recent edit to Godalming Grammar School appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Thanks for your understanding. I also want to note that I've removed some very, very long quotations from a couple of related articles. For a non-free source, quotations are allowed but should be kept relatively brief – enough to get the point across but most of an article should still be summarized in original prose. Particularly for references, if the website is online and accessible to readers, there's no need to add an extensive quote from it because it's just one click away. Hope that makes sense. Oh, I understand, Couald I add Richard Toop' analyze as a reference and cite the book/journal. He is/was a leading musicologist in direct contact with the musicians and composers involved in those compositions. Thank you so much for your help Lpro93 (talk) 05:41, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Stuffing the text full of reviews and excerpts doesn't make it permissible to violate Wikipedia's neutral-point-of-view policies. In particular, the lede should be a concise summary, and not read like an advertisement. OhNoitsJamie ^Talk 02:15, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
