February 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm Gladamas. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Murder seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. –Gladamas (talk · contribs) 18:53, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in abortion. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

March 2020 edit

  Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Doug Weller talk 08:30, 13 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You need to take your concerns to talk pages as you are violating WP:NPOV edit

The term anti-abortion is neutral - it means what it says on the tin and nothing else. "Pro-life" implies that everyone else is anti-life, which is nonsense. It could also mean against capital punishment, which I suspect some anti-abortion campaigners support. Basically the term could mean many things. Another point - you could dislike abortion but be in favor of abortion rights - I hope you can see that. You need to stop trying to force your views into articles - every edit you've made has been reverted. Use talk pages if you wish to continue this attempt to change our article. Please read the note about sanctions above. These have been set because this is such an emotive issue. I have to say that if this is your only purpose here you'll be disappointed as your edits violate basic policy, and if they continue you can be topic banned from the area or even blocked entirely, which would be a shame. Doug Weller talk 08:47, 13 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Doug Weller: This user isn't even thinking about what they're doing, it's just a mindless replace-all: it includes quotes, titles of references, etc. They should be blocked ASAP. --JBL (talk) 10:56, 13 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

March 2020 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Doug Weller talk 12:48, 13 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I see that I have been blocked because I was "clearly not here to build an encyclopedia" All my edits have been to pages on abortion. My edits were not from a neutral perspective but from a pro-life perspective. I made minors edits such as changing terms like "anti-abortion" to "pro-life" and "fetus" to an unborn baby. I strongly oppose abortion and wanted to save babies. I felt as if the terms "anti-abortion" and "fetus" were not neutral. Also, if someone is not "pro-life" and supports abortion, then they support the murder of babies, so, yes, they would be anti-life. My intentions were good and I was genuinely trying to make Wikipedia better, but, if you want, I will keep my views out of articles. I can help build an encyclopedia. I understand that you want articles written from a neutral perspective, and, although I disagree with that policy, I promise to respect it if I am unblocked. I promise that I will not add in my personal or religious beliefs if I am unblocked. I promise to write from a neutral perspective if I am unblocked. If I am not unblocked, that is okay. I understand. Thank you for your consideration.LovelyAngel1990 (talk) 02:38, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The only way I can see an unblock being possible would be with a topic ban on all articles relating to abortion, broadly construed. That being the case, what areas would you edit in if unblocked? Yunshui  07:43, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock discussion edit

@Doug Weller: Thoughts? --Deep fried okra User talk:Deepfriedokra 04:13, 18 March 2020 (UTC) "@Deepfriedokra: only with a topic ban. Doug Weller talk 09:09, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • So, to be unblocked, you must agree to not edit about anything connected with abortion. You must completely avoid the subject. In your next unblock request, please indicate your agreement with the topic ban and please tell us what constructive edits you would make. --Deep fried okra User talk:Deepfriedokra 09:16, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

If I am unblocked, I agree to not make edits on any pages related to abortion. Instead, I can make edits to any other topic from a neutral perspective. You asked what constructive edits I could make. In my opinion, my edits to articles on abortion were constructive, but I promised to keep my personal and religious views out of articles, so I will refrain from editing articles about or related to abortion if unblocked. If I fail to keep those promises, you could always block me again or delete my account. So, I would make edits to other articles that are not related to abortion from the neutral perspective without adding in my personal and religious beliefs. Thank you for your consideration.

Decline reason:

You forgot to tell us what other areas you'd edit. You are also doubling down on your previous edits being constructive. They weren't. If you don't see that, there's no path forward for you to be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 13:22, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your reason here LovelyAngel1990 (talk) 13:42, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

As you have already agreed to a topic ban from abortion related topics, and described subject areas in which you will edit, I will remove the block. Be advised that the topic ban will be subject to the permitted exceptions and be broadly construed; if it has anything at all to do with abortion, don't make the edit. You may appeal the ban after 500 edits or six months(whichever comes last) and should your first appeal fail, every six months thereafter. 331dot (talk) 21:50, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You said I forgot to tell you what I would edit. I would edit topics I know a lot about, such as animals, food, certain historical events, some famous people, and clothing. As I promised before, I would make edits from the neutral perspective without adding in my personal or religious views. I honestly did not understand what I did wrong and my intentions were good. I know the neutral perspective is very important and, if unblocked, I promise to obey that policy. I would make my edits neutral and they would be constructive. I can help build an encyclopedia.

Thank You for your consideration.

@Doug Weller: With the topic ban already agreed to, do you have any further objections? 331dot (talk) 20:53, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
@331dot: none. Doug Weller talk 21:22, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
