License tagging for Image:CFS-AIRPORT.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:CFS-AIRPORT.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:06, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

PAL edit

Hey there! Love your idea! I'll be working on the fleet table and get some more sources about them eliminating their First Class. I'll also delete the former destinations list for now since it doesn't have sources per WP:AIRLINES and WP:AIRPORTS policy. But I'll try to look for sources regarding this and if I find some I'll re-add the former destinations. pikdig (talk) 16:23, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey there! Do you have some historic PAL timetables? Because I'm having a hard time finding references for the former destinations. If by any chance you have any, please contact me. Thanks! pikdig (talk) 16:41, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! pikdig (talk) 18:03, 22 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again! Although the destinations are still incomplete, we could use some old editions of PAL timetables, OAG timetables, and Mabuhay Magazines as references. pikdig (talk) 06:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Spirit of Manila, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.spiritofmanilaairlines.com/aboutus.htm. As a copyright violation, Spirit of Manila appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Spirit of Manila has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Spirit of Manila and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Spirit of Manila with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Spirit of Manila.

Proposed deletion of Spirit of Manila destinations edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Spirit of Manila destinations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This is a list of destinations of an airline, whose corresponding article has been deleted.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. pikdig (talk) 01:47, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:TRIBU FINAL LOGO copy.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:TRIBU FINAL LOGO copy.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi,

I'm trying to contact Jeepney owners in the Philippines for a short documentary. They would be paid if they are involved. I am interested in talking to those with particularly decorated trucks.

I have seen your photo collection and thought you might have some tips on the best way to contact these people. Are you able to help at all? My email is brian.lavery@wk.com

WikiProject Ports edit

To WikiProject Ports members:

I've proposed that WP:PORTS be rebadged as a task force of Wikipedia:WikiProject Transport. I think this would increase the pool of ports editors and help us expand our article range and quality. But that's just my view - please feel free to offer yours. The discussion is here, comments or criticisms welcomed. Euryalus (talk) 12:18, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175 edit

Dear Lovebus,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Sky Harbor (talk) 12:49, 4 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 2019 US Banknote Contest edit

  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
