Welcome! edit

Hello, LizOnehub, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Onehub, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! The OneHub article edit

The problem is not so much that you are the employee of the company but that at the time being the article does not satisfy our notability criteria. May I please ask you to read two of our policies: Notability (choose specifically companies) and use of reliable sources. If you do not understand something there please ask just here, at your talk page. After you are done with the reading, you will be understanding better what is asked from you, and you can decide whether you want to abandon the article or to continue editing in the good direction.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:07, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

== Thank you Ymblanter! Yes, I did read both policies in detail and still do not understand how our article does not satisfy the notability criteria. We have a reliable source [1] that showcases how we are unique. We want to continue editing, and we want to meet the Wikipedia standard and policies. I just need help with the editing because each time I change our article and resubmit it it gets rejected, and I am unsure as to why…Hoping that Sarah can help me. She offered to help….

LizOnehub (talk) 18:14, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

First, I am not sure how reliable this source is, given that on the main page the only thing they are talking about is commercialization. Compare with New York Times, for instance, which is a reliable source. Moreover, even if it were a reliable source, one source is not sufficient, we usually require at least three sources undoubtful reability. Third, this source confirms at best 10% of what is in the article.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:49, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

== Thanks again Ymblanter. I would have to disagree with you that our source is not reliable. In our space of IT, it is very well respected. This seems like an opinion? To your third point, you are correct, this source is only supporting the second sentence in our article. All other sentences are supported by other sources (all reputable, for example, Amazon and xconomy.com). However, if it is the second sentence that is in question, here are 2 other reliable sources talking about our Onehub product for Dropbox business users: http://www.fiercecontentmanagement.com/story/onehub-offers-more-sophisticated-security-dropbox-business/2013-11-12 http://unified-communications.tmcnet.com/topics/unified-communications/articles/360050-onehub-integrates-with-dropbox-enabling-secure-file-sharing.htm

Thanks for your help on this.

  • Hi Liz. A couple of points: While articles submitted at WP:Articles for Creation may be declined or accepted by any reviewer who is an experienced Wikipedia editor in good standing, it is interesting to note that it has been declined by several admins who were on review patrol at the time of your (re)sumbmissions. I am not sure that the sources you cite above, blog contributions by freelance editors Ron MillerI and Shamilla Janakiraman are acceptable - please see WP:Reliable sources especially the sub section at WP:USERG; our WP:reliable Sources Noticeboard will be able to provide you with more information. In its current cast, and having reviewed the sources myself and those above, if it were to be published to Wikipedia mainspace I do not believe however, that it would be kept if sent for review by the community at at Articles for deletion.
Secondly, what my admin colleague Ymblanter has not yet pointed out but which needs mentioning now is your clear WP:Conflict of interest. This becomes evident from your choice of user name and the frequent use of the 'we' pronoun. These are possible infringements of policy that could lead to your account being blocked from editing the encyclopedia. Please take a moment to read our WP:Username policy, in particular the sub sections at WP:CORPNAME and WP:ISU. Regards, Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:49, 9 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Onehub edit

Hello Lizqk. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Onehub".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Onehub}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 15:45, 12 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
