Lorcaserin edit

If you have disagreement with User:Leftcoaster scab about the content of Lorcaserin, please discuss the issue on the article's talk page, Talk:Lorcaserin, rather than engaging in an "edit war". Please also be aware of Wikipedia's three revert rule. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 10:41, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Leftcoaster scab seems eager to remove all unflattering info about lorcaserin and replace it with Arena Pharmaceuticals' press releases. I think this does a great disservice to Wikipedia, to turn the lorcaserin entry into an advertisement for the drug, especially since Arena has not yet sought FDA approval and investors are starting to get antsy. I did open a discussion on the entry's talk page. Liturgie de cristal (talk) 23:56, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Liturgie de cristal. I think its important that the J Med Chem reference should be included in the article as it demonstrates the research from which this compound was derived. I have added it back in, but feel free to move it elsewhere if you want. Meodipt (talk) 02:37, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Have anxiety and migraine headaches been reported as side effects in human trials? I might expect these to be a problem given that they are prominent effects of other 5HT2C agonists like mCPP, but I must admit I haven't looked through the clinical trial data for lorcaserin in detail yet. The side effects section at present mainly focuses on the side effects of 5HT2C agonists in general in animals, so we need to make this more specific to the side effects of lorcaserin in humans.
