Ok, so you have one person who agrees with you. Why do you want to clutter the article with all these players who played a handful of games but came from an exotic country? Just to look nice, as you said, or some better reason? Why not take up Rockpocket's suggestion and make pages for some of the highly notable players of the past who lack articles? This would be far more useful than what you are doing. In fact, if you keep doing what you are doing you will be blocked. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings there but it is very important to use consensus when editing here. I saw the work you did in starting the Edvaldsson page, well done. An article you started, Jóhannes Eðvaldsson, has progressed into really quite a decent article. I never knew half these things about Shuggy, did you? Even the proper Icelandic spelling of his name was news to me. I've decided to award you the Football (Soccer) Star. You deserve it for all the stick you've had for trying to add Roy Keane and co to the Celtic page. Being on the wrong end of a consensus is an awful feeling sometimes; if you stick around here you will doubtless experience it again.
