Conflict of interest disclosure edit

An important point of disclosure: I work at the behest of Lenovo and I am paid for my work. I would appreciate it very much if other editors would review my work and adopt my edits when they find them superior. LenovoMan1967 (talk) 13:28, 5 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for being open about your reason for editing. Having your edits reviewed by other editors is how it should go, but (as outlined at WP:NOPAY) you should raise these changes on article talk pages rather than making them directly. --McGeddon (talk) 20:34, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Again, per WP:NOPAY you are "very strongly discouraged" from making any direct edits to articles that relate to your company. Please raise the changes your employers wish to see on the article talk pages instead. --McGeddon (talk) 08:18, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your disclosing your COI, but I've got a real problem with this paid editing. Your edits so far seem to be limited to adding information about new products. Those edits are not perfect, and need attention from other editors to fix them. For example, you haven't been converting from US to standard units, and you leave white space before your refs. Small things, but still, someone else has to come along and fix them. I reverted your edits to ThinkPad because I was unable to verify them due to the source being behind a paywall. If your goal were to improve WP rather than promote your products, I would expect to see you contribute in ways other than adding new product info. I'm not sure what the solution is here but the current situation makes me uncomfortable. Kendall-K1 (talk) 11:49, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Indenting? edit

How do indent marked up copy on talk pages? The text of the edits I am proposing is not distinct from my comments. How do I fix that? LenovoMan1967 (talk) 15:39, 5 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Just put a colon (":") at the start of each paragraph (as I'm doing now to reply to you). WP:MARKUP explains the full range of markup available on Wikipedia. --McGeddon (talk) 20:39, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Legend Holdings logo.gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:Legend Holdings logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:08, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
