Quality Scale Assessment of Articles | WikiProject:Korea

Hello, User:Lenoresm! :)

I was curious to know if WP:KO is still active. Recently, I'd worked on a piece - Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, and when I submitted it for a quality assessment, realized that there was an article from 2017 still awaiting assessment. For a second, I was saddened at the thought of the project being no longer active. But then I checked around, and pinged one of the users, who led me to you!

For the sake of brevity, I'll post the exact same question I posted there, "Does it usually take this long? Or is there a snag in getting this project going? Do let me know your thoughts. I found that you're a member, and that this fell within the vicinity of your interests as an article. ^_^"

Thanks in advance, MakersBreath (talk) 05:22, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi MakersBreath! Unfortunately, I don't think the effort to assess articles under WP:KO necessarily has quick turnaround. Typically, if you request assessment, someone will get around to it eventually, but I don't think there are a lot of editors working through the project's housekeeping and cleanup backlog. (And we need more editors working on this — some articles have clean up tags that are ten years old!) At any rate, I'm happy to look at your article and the other one still in the queue when I have a moment. Lenoresm (talk) 22:07, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
Wow. I'm deeply saddened to hear that bit about tags that are over ten years old! :( Also, is there a particular process through which I can join the cause? I'd really just love to be an active part of this community. It's got a lot of potential in my opinion. Thanks! ^_^ MakersBreath (talk) 05:31, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
The cleanup listing for WikiProject Korea is a great place to start scrolling through if you want to improve existing articles. You can also join a working group or the housekeeping department (the page for which appears to be inactive, but there are editors who do that kind of work), or just poke around WP:KO to see what interests you. It's also satisfying to improve the most popular content since those pages are getting the most views and should be the best quality imo. Anyway, hope you find something here that interests you! Further expanding List of best-selling albums in South Korea

Hello!

I saw you added a few Kim Gun-mo and Lee Moon-sae albums to the list and I wanted to let you know that there are plenty more 1980s-1990's albums with sourced sales in the Spanish-language list that still need to be added.
I am currently very busy and at a critical time in my life and career, so I would appreciate some help in updating the English-language list.
Thanks!

I've never looked at the Spanish-language list, so this is a great tip! Thanks! I'll try to add more of these to English Wikipedia. Lenoresm (talk) 14:28, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Jam discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Singles. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:12, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Request for assistance

Hello and thank you again so much Lenoresm! Related to the above work that I thanked you for, the tangled web that was woven in Burning Sun scandal is nearing an end soon, with the conclusion of Seungri's trial. I began the page hoping for a collaborative effort, but have edited most of it, to the growing ire of his fans on SNS and here on Wikipedia. Much vandalism has been kept at bay by administrators, but with the legal decision pending soon, edits will probably increase twicefold. The last gang-related charge [1] was not added yet, and I did not add any reports of the on-going trial, waiting for the verdict. If you have time, I would welcome your help with a clean-up and conclusion for the page (although it's possible further legal decisions may be reported later). I anticipated doing a re-write, especially of the Introduction, but think that you could provide a better one than me, and it might help alleviate any bias concerns. I split the page due to recommendations earlier, and the work you did on the JJY split page was much appreciated and needed. It was hard to work on the updates and keep a clear overview and you nailed it.

Also, if you have time or interest, I sometimes try to help out on Draft pages, and drew a blank on this one: Draft:Dable. I think the main problem might be that notability, in my opinion, is established in Korean language citations, which I tried to expand in the text. The original Draft creator didn't help themselves by beginning with a User name that reflected a closeness to the subject. Anyway, if you have time....and thanks again so much for your much needed, excellent and tireless work!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 02:17, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

I've noticed that you are one of the participants on the Wikiprojects page for Korean popular culture. I've made a nomination for the South Korean popular culture music group BTS for featured article. Any interest in participating and maybe making some comments?
