I am new to Wikipedia, and I am trying to get my bearings. I have a few questions regarding an article that I requested to have created - TransCard,LLC. I am currently an employee at this company, so I do not feel I am the best fit for creating the article due to the conflict of interest guidelines. I created the request under the Companies/Business section (this name may not be exactly correct - again, I am still learning). I want to make sure that I am on the right track. TransCard, LLC, is a company that is similar to Green Dot Corporation. I know of articles and sources, but again, I am a current employee. I would love to hear from someone experienced to let me know if I am heading in the right direction. Thanks! Lcarter82 (talk) 19:35, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to share those articles and sources. It'll make the job of whoever is creating the article a heck of a lot easier. Now, we don't talk about this very often, but if you can make a neutral page about the company with plenty of references (avoiding things like "The first company to..." or other possibly contentious statements without being able to reference a non-company source like a newspaper, etc.) then you can actually make the article yourself. Just mention that you do have a conflict of interest then go to town, as they say. Most people with conflicts of interest don't have enough sources for what they're trying to say and say something like, "Well, everyone knows..." or "I'm an employee so I know that..." and you can't do that, because we have no idea who you are really and can't trust anything but an independent verifiable source. If you'd like any further help, contact me on my user talk page or put a {{help me}} template up on your own user talk page and someone will be along to help you. :) Banaticus (talk) 01:52, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
