Request reason:

I believe I should be unblocked because I am being lumped in with other users who are abusing policies as a result of using a proxy service. I am not associated with BurritoSlayer, the user account mentioned in the userpage notification. Outside of Checkuser, there is nothing that connects me to these sockpuppet accounts. Although Checkuser provides information in order to ascertain the IP addresses used by a Wikipedia user account, and I’m assuming that means BurritoSlayer is using the same IP as me, that is not enough to condemn me as an abusive editor/that I am directly connected with this user. I use a proxy service, not just for Wikipedia, but anytime I’m on the internet because I believe in my right to internet privacy and protecting myself from spammers, marketing companies, etc. from obtaining personal information about me. Furthermore, with the exception of one article (Ruthie Quinto, in which the edits were 74 days apart), I have not edited the same articles as BurritoSlayer. I used the Editor Interaction Analyser tool to check. I believe the block should be reversed because Checkuser is not enough evidence to connect me to the abusive editors, nor are my edits applicable to BurritoSlayer and their associated accounts. I look forward to your response. Thank you. LPW22 (talk) 13:18, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

As noted below, editing via proxies is not generally permitted. To be unblocked you will have to follow the advice at WP:IPBLOCK, ie. email a checkuser or functionary to explain why you need an exemption from the policy. GoldenRing (talk) 00:15, 15 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

UnBlock Request - Just Chilling edit

Just Chilling, As per your email, I followed your instructions and posted the unblock request on my Talk Page. I have not received a confirmation that request has been assigned to an admin or that the request is under review. Can you please confirm the request has been assigned to an admin? Thank you.--LPW22 (talk) 13:27, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your request is queued and can be seen at Category:Requests for unblock. Just Chilling (talk) 19:12, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Are you aware that except in certain specified conditions, primarily relating to the geographical location of the editor, editing Wikipedia through a proxy server is not allowed and is itself a valid reason to impose a block?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 11:22, 4 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I note your various comments. I am not a checkuser, and hence cannot unblock you; I would suggest, however, for your future consideration, that it is entirely possible - indeed, virtually guaranteed - that one or more abusive users have been editing through the same proxy that you use. This perfectly illustrates why Wikipedia does not normally allow editing through proxy servers.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 18:51, 16 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
