Diplomacy (game)/to do edit

A tag has been placed on Diplomacy (game)/to do, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks for that, I'm only trying to make a to-do list for Diplomacy (game) to appear on its talk page. That page was only created because I clicked on the to-do template I'd added, added the code and saved it (I just realised it's supposed to be a subpage of the TALK page, not of the main article). Consider this as my approval of that article's speedy delete. L337 kybldmstr 05:25, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • No problem; I kind of thought that's what might have happened in light of your other contributions. I gotta lay off of new pages patrol late at night. Thanks for not flying off the handle. --PMDrive1061 06:07, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Changing Arbutus edit

I changed the Arbutus biography page to make it a biography. All of the material that I deleted was plot from the episode of aladdin that he was featured in and should be included in a summary of that episode. Arbutus, only being in one epidode, should have a very short entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.19.81.84 (talk) 21:08, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

response edit

The comments I made were primarily against people who wrote nothing but jingoistic nationalism. Im amazed that the editors at wikipedia are allowing these kinds of hateful messages by certain people. Sometimes there are gross lies and distortions and racial slurs. If you are an editor please tell these people to stop with these kind of statements, its bringing the quality of wikipedia down. October 2007 edit

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Jmlk17 09:38, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that, someone else had reverted that edit and put the vandalism4 tag on the talk page, and I ended up thinking that warning had already been there. L337 kybldmstr 09:47, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Diplomacy box.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Diplomacy box.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:59, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Troll edit

Please note my comments here. Be aware that the troll is very likely to start spamming your talk page with endless paragraphs of meaningless filibustering, highly theatrical protestations of innocence and all sorts of other illucid ravings. This is typical of the account-owner's pattern of behaviour when anyone raises the matter of his extensive ongoing abuses of WP policy. It's been going on since at least March. Mediation was tried and it was ignored. The troll needs to be stopped, and stopped now. --Gene_poole 08:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Diplomacy article edit

Hi. You added some (entirely appropriate) tags to the article Diplomacy (game) in October after you made improvements including removal of tons of unencyclopedic original research. In the last week or so, I've made a lot of improvements and added citations. Clearly there is still work that can be done, and I need to find and cite sources for more points I added in the play-by-mail history, but can you please review it and see whether some of those tags can be removed? I deleted some of the more-offending text, but some such as the Kennedy and Kissinger mentions (which I have seen ever since I learned the game in the 1970s) should stay (as minor bits of notability and interest) but need citation. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
