Hmm, how very interesting that I should see you here at Wikipedia... Maybe you should set up a user page of your account, because it gives a less anonymous image.

I see you already have made some edits and discussion posts... So maybe setting up that sort of page is not all that necessary.

This is Erik "The Appreciator" writing. If you're the Kyarorain I've been seeing over at fanfiction.net, then I'll tell you that I've already reviewed your "Vision" fic, and I think you do great work. Hopefully you'll help the Golden Sun pages get even better!

Status

Okay, so I've been making loads of rewriting work on the Golden Sun articles, the reason being that that's who I am as a Wikipedian; I rearrange and retool articles that are considered messy and lopsided, and I've had plenty of practice on Pokemon articles. Funny thing, though: I look at the new versions of these Golden Sun pages and compare them to the current versions of the Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII pages and notice that they have really condensed plot summaries, stuff that doesn't even spoil anything at their respective ends. So what I'm hoping is that I can figure out any condensing that the articles need, even minor condensings, and any input from you and other Wikipedians will be appreciated. Thanks! What I'm doing now with the Golden Sun pages is finding URLS to be used as references to be put into the articles to support their verifiability, and with references I can construct fully developed "Response" sections for the game pages like what is seen on other RPG articles like Final Fantasy. Thing is, it's somewhat harder than I thought it would be to look for and find good internet sources for that purpose. If you can find some URLs pointing to things like reviews that point out Golden Sun's over-text-use problem and statistics links detailing how many copies the games have sold and put the URLs on my talk page, it'd be highly appreciated.

What makes references and the citation business so important is that they directly support what the article says about a game and prove that it has not been written with dubious info; they are much better for that purpose than many external links at the bottom of any given page. The people that have been deleting external links from the Golden Sun page do so because references carry out their purpose much better. That's why it's important to hunt for good URLs to connect to the articles, so I hope you can help out on your own time. Thanks for your time! Erik the Appreciator 23:34, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

What I am doing is not vandalism, it is removal of unnecessary information which takes up space. I have been doing legit work on that page for months, so don't think you can come in, take over and accuse me of vandalising the page, all you're doing is acting like a stuck-up jerk and you have a wonky idea of vandalism. Just to note that someone else named Eldarone removed this IP's content just like Kyarorain did earlier, calling it fancruft, which kinda provides a rough consensus that those Japanese characters shouldn't be there. And now the page has been temporarily protected by a sysop because of the edit wars; now there has to be a discussion on the talk page in order to resolve the issue. I don't think anyone's actually in trouble right now; at the moment a discussion is necessary in order for things to continue and right themselves. Here's hoping things will turn out for everyone. A short while back you had posted the katakana/romanji of Robin on the List of characters in Golden Sun talk page like this: (ロビン) I'm pretty sure this wasn't anywhere on the site beforehand, so I'm wondering; did you create that yourself? If so, it'd be great if you could implement the romanji for all the other characters. Otherwise, if you had found the Robin romanji somewhere, could you direct me to it? Well, I copied and pasted it off Camelot's Japanese website. However, I have some knowledge of how most names are spelled in katakana and I know a website that converts to kana, so it shouldn't be tricky to implement them. Yes, now, here's what caused that to happen: a discussion at the List of characters talk page. The two of you were violating policy at first by not taking it to the talk page where there could be a community consensus reached; the talk page is where these matters always go to get resolved. But I was able to step in and steer things in the right direction. If 130.49.146.46 can remember to bring it up on an article's talk page the next time he tries to do something with the article that somebody else doesn't approve of and allow for a discussion with multiple editors involved, things will be hunky dory. ^_^ Hopefully that's the end of that. GS:TSS rumor removal

Noticing your removal of the content about what was supposedly shown at E3 about that Golden Sun DS title... If it was proven anywhere by a reputable source that it was a hoax, then I would appreciate being directed to it because I'm currently not aware of any such source; otherwise, if you decided yourself for everyone that it's just a hoax without something to back it up, that's not really the best way to go about it on Wikipedia, because that assertion's a form of Original Research. (No no no, this isn't any sort of serious issue I'm bringing up :D)

What I think editors would do about this on the ideal Wikipedia is keep the content in there, because it's sourced to an outside article, and I think it's okay to report about possible hoaxes in the general sense in articles if they have the sourcing (though I may just possibly be wrong). Supposing this really is a hoax, a LOT of people would still want it mentioned in a section that has a name like Later Developments, so what I think would be a good idea is to bring it back and have it rewritten to describe the post-TLA-release hoaxes scenario in general, with a short sentence or two about this one development. Well, for one thing, this site says that it is a hoax: http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/07/12/not-e307-fake-golden-sun-ds-announced/ And also, there are many things wrong with the pictures to confirm it may be a hoax. Lack of a copyright symbol by Nintendo/CAMELOT, the fact that Camelot always makes their games in Japanese first and there is nothing on their own website to reflect the fact they may have made another sequel, the usage of old official art from TLA (way back in 2002), and don't you think they would confiscate phones at E3 as well as cameras? Neither Nintendo or Camelot has said anything on it.

If you want to make a section on fake GS3s or something, you could do that, and add 'Alex's Quest' as well. That was the first major hoax at any rate. It would also be a step toward people recognising fakes, to have it on Wikipedia. Might want to add a note about VGBoxArt too. Kyarorain 08:00, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Interesting... While that site certainly makes the accusation, one has to wonder if the site itself is reliable... But whatever, those are good reasons not to report on TSS like it's an upcoming game. And having the content on there for readers to recognize it is fake is a good idea. VGBoxArt is a site that makes fake video game box art, basically. People seem to get pictures from it a lot when searching for GS3 images, i.e. 'Staff of Hesperia', and often think they are real. Kyarorain 17:00, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
