Lycosa coelestis listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Lycosa coelestis. Since you had some involvement with the Lycosa coelestis redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). - This title has not been started as an article, and right now if you type it in you don't get taken to the page that DOES have information on it, Lycosta.
- I understand the desire to not just have a stub page that people won't build on, but not to the desire delete mechanisms specifically designed to "redirect" people towards their desired information, in the faint hopes that they'll eventually build the pages themselves. The deletion of the redirect was wrongheaded. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 16:46, 21 November 2012 (UTC) (copied here from the talk page where it may get deleted)
- Well procedurally the discussion was open quite long and deletion not contested. With respect to the outcome, there seems to be a general tendency to not redirect species to the genus article, also for other reasons than the hope for an article that others may explain better, so I can only invite you to look for the relevant guidelines and discussions also with respect to links or soft redirects wikispecies as I note that species:Lycosa_coelestis was actually the initial target, but not the one discussed at RfD. --Tikiwont (talk) 20:51, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
