Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tapani Hyvönen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ICSID (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Nazarin Agakhani

edit

Hello Kotivalo,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Nazarin Agakhani, may be copied from http://nazaninaghakhani.com/life. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 08:10, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Nazanin Aghakhani

edit

Hello Kotivalo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nazanin Aghakhani for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Swiss3312 (talk) 10:17, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Close paraphrasing

edit

Hi Kotivalo. Can you please read WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASING? I've looked over the articles you've created recently and it appears as if you are copying other websites too closely. You should use references as a source of information and rewrite everything in your own words rather than copy and pasting and then rewording it to make it appear different. It would also be a good idea to review WP:BIO since it is not immediately clear that the subjects are sufficiently notable to have their biographies included here. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks SmartSE (talk) 15:46, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi SmartSE, Please tell me which one of my biographies are not notable enough so I won't waste my time editing them for copyright violation:
I haven't looked into them in detail, but articles don't have sufficient sources at the moment to survive at articles for deletion. The best way to judge notability is using google news archive (or something similar to it like factiva if you have access) or google books. To be included they need to have been written about in several different magazines, newspapers or books (not just mentioned). From my quick searches only Tapani Hyvönen is notable, but I can't be sure as I can't read the full versions of the books that mention him. It's things like this that we need. Salora

edit

Salora | Albers Trading
Ervaring sinds 1928
Salora International BV

--85.76.19.41 (talk) 19:22, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Kiitos, että olet huomioinut Alankomaissa toimivan Saloran (tuotemerkki suomalaista alkuperää) ja Intiassa olevan Saloran eron. Koska Salora-artikkelissa kuitenkin edelleen lukee esim.: Saloran tuotemerkki siirtyi helmikuussa 2006 hollantilaiselle yksityishenkilölle, niin parempi olisi laittaa tilalle kokonaan korjattu versio 15. elokuuta 2014 kello 11.00. Tuo "hollantilainen yksityishenkilöhän" on Albers Trading B.V., jossa Trading ei suinkaan ole sukunimi, vaan kaupankäyntiä/kaupantekoa/kauppaa tarkoittava englannin kielen sana. --85.76.150.81 (talk) 00:18, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Mikset muokkaa itse, ja miksi keskustelet asiasta en-wikissä? –Kotivalo (talk) 16:40, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
--85.76.145.60 (talk) 20:33, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ahaa, olet ilmeisesti WPK tms. Kiitos ja näkemiin. –Kotivalo (talk) 20:36, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Seppo Salko

edit

Could you please expand on why you tagged Seppo Salko for deletion as an attack page? I can't find anything in the article that would meet that particular speedy deletion criteria. Thank you, --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:55, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

A Finnish editor has, under several user IDs, started and edited several articles concerning an unsolved child abuse scandal in a Finnish missionary school in Taiwan. On Finnish Wikipedia discussions, the editor confesses that this is to advocate justice in the case and to attack the alleged perpetrators and their conspirators. All of these articles are to be deleted from fi-wiki according to consensus by several regular editors. – Also, many of the articles' subjects, such as Seppo Salko, don't meet the notability criteria. I hope this helps. –Kotivalo (talk) 19:20, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
There is still nothing specific in the article that can be seen as an attack which would allow for the speedy deletion criteria to apply. If you believe that deletion is necessary the best route would be to start an articles for deletion discussion and explain your rationale there. The English language article can only be deleted in accordance with English Wikipedia policy and a discussion is the most appropriate venue to address the concerns if you seek to have the article deleted. I don't doubt your reasons for making the request, but the deletion policy does not allow me to speedy delete the article based on the circumstances you describe. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:28, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Also, if you do start a deletion discussion, could you please let me know so I can watchlist it? If the consensus there is that there is indeed an immediate need for deletion then we could revisit that option.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:31, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
I leave it be, since the deletion procedure on en-wiki seems so much more cumbersome than on fi-wiki. I don't have the time or energy to read pages of instructions, sorry. Btw, the article was just speed-deleted from fi-wiki. –Kotivalo (talk) 19:52, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Alternatively, you could post a note at this noticeboard outlining your concerns if you find the deletion process too cumbersome.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:14, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.
