Page protection

Generally the best place to request page protection is at WP:RPP which is staffed by many administrators rather than an individual administrators talk page (because it may be a while before they log on.) (Unless there is something unusual about the situation which the individual administrater is familiar with, but an outsider would take a long time to get up to speed.)Active Banana (talk) 22:54, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Here is a draft of what the content of a successful request might look like.

Note:

1) if the vandalism is coming from just a small range of IP addresses (XX.YY.ZZ.23 and XX.YY.ZZ.26 and XX.YY.ZZ.27) it is better to ask for a range block of the IP addresses at WP:ANI>Vandalism in which case #3 HAS to have been met.

2) the edits in question must actually meet WP:VANDAL (I didnt look very closely, but I am not sure this condition has actually been met)

3) it is more likely if the offending part(ies) must have recieved (and ignored) adequate warnings

4) it is more likely if you have attempted to communicate with them on the Talk:Isang Lakas page and been ignored

long/OR/short term semi/OR/full protection - PUT YOUR REASON HERE, FOR EXAMPLE: the page has been a long time target of a series of IP editors who insert unsourced speculative content and other disruptive behavior despite having recieved substantial warnings. im NOt a sockpuppets of MsGanda, it doesn't mean if we always edit the same Page is we are sockpuppets of each other, we don't know each other i don't know his/her name, i don't know everything about his/hers identity... we don't know each other... don't be fooled by detractors of mine because they want me out of wikipedia so that they can vandalize the page/pages i editing... so please help me because they are eager to remove me here... thanks & Godspeed... --Knight Crawler X (talk) 05:24, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

I didn't judge your edits, I used the checkuser tool and determined that there's zero doubt that you are socks. If you want to pretend MsGanda is separate, you better have some explaination about why you're using the same computer. Cool Hand Luke 12:26, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:

im requesting to unblock me, because of im not a sockpuppet of MsGanda, and i don't know her, if you think that MsGanda is a sockpuppet of me, im really really sorry, but as i know i don't know her, i don't know her name, i don't her email, & i don't know that she is using my computer "if" she is my sockpuppet, im really saddened & depressed about this because the only reason i know that i have to be blocked is edit warring and nothing else, if im guilty of sockpuppetting it's because i don't read the rules/regulations of wikipedia... i only known im guilty of is edit warring. im begging of you please unblock me im so so depressed now because of this issue, and one more thing i promise that if you unblock me i really will not do edit warring again & if im guilty of sockpuppetting, im also don't do it again. thanks & godspeed to all of us...

Decline reason:

It is not that you use the same computer, it is that you have done the exact same actions as MsGanda. The checkuser evidence that shows both account edit from the same computer is interesting, but ultimately is only extra evidence. The behavioral evidence here is strong enough to link the two accounts fairly easily. Jayron32 04:49, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
