Proposed deletion of Alan Melikdjanian edit

The article Alan Melikdjanian has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Alan Melikdjanian has been reverted.
Your edit here to Alan Melikdjanian was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://youtube.com/user/CaptainDisillusion) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Your recent deletion tagging edit

Regarding Vi Hart, Tessa Violet and Amy Walker: while I appreciate you may not think these persons any more notable than Alan Melikdjanian, proposing them for deletion or tagging them for speedy deletion in the wake of the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alan Melikdjanian could be seen as a violation of WP:POINT ("Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point"), particularly in the case of a spurious use of {{db-person}}.

If you seriously wish to pursue the deletions of these articles, the best venue would be at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. But be sure to make a proper case for their deletion: WP:BEFORE would be a useful guide here.

Thank you for your concerns. I did not intend to offend anyone. I have just been trying to rid Wikipedia of unnotable persons. Kingofthesalads (talk) 08:19, 12 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

About Alan Melikdjanian... edit

See my comments at the AFD discussion. Check WP:RS to see that many of the sources used as citations are unsuitable. Use the many sources I found and listed at the discussion to fix and update the article. If a good source confirms something, use it. Hesitate to use anything considered a poor source. And never mind arguments about other articles. Just concentrate on yours. Some careful pruning and proper sourcing and it should be a keeper. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:05, 19 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Reply I believe the problem with my Alan Melikdjanian article has been fixed. Thank you :) Kingofthesalads (talk) 08:01, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay edit

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
