Speedy deletion of Draft:Khalil Ahmed Khan edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Khalil Ahmed Khan has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:28, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear Tamzin! I believe that you are the deleting administrator for my first published biographical article on Mr Khalil Ahmed Khan which you have speedily deleted by stating that this was done under Section G11 of the Wikipedia criteria for speedy deletion as you believed that it seemed to be unambiguous advertising and must be encyclopedic. To clarify, please note that there was no intention of the article to be in promotional or advertisement tone rather it was informative and knowledgeable and cited with more than two dozen verifiable sources as well in order to comply with the Wikipedia's criteria on biographies. As a reviewer, you might have seen that there was no report of copying or plagiarism from Copyvios and the references cited were verifiable and not spam. Under the Section G11 of the Wikipedia's Criteria for speedy deletion it is stated that if the subject is notable then the content which is promotional in terms should be replaced with neutral text rather than speedy deletion of the page. Hence, I would like to kindly request you to overturn the speedy deletion of the page, and I will replace all such sentences and content which you or other reviewers think is promotional rather than deleting the page wholly. Thank you Kic321 (talk) 09:33, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
The G11 was due to a pervasive promotional tone, of the sort one might see on someone's personal website or in press material. You're welcome to ask another admin to review the deletion. If they see a way to restore the draft with promotional content removed, they have my blessing to do so. Alternately, you may appeal to the community at Wikipedia:Deletion review. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 09:40, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

July 2022 edit

Hello Kic321. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Khalil Ahmed Khan, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Kic321. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Kic321|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:29, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Tamzin! In response to your message I would like to clarify that I am by no means being paid by any person or entity to create or edit any articles on Wikipedia and have not violated any of the Wikimedia Terms of Use or the Wikipedia's Paid-contribution disclosure requirements. I have been following sports personalities since many years and started my Wikipedia journey this Summer by editing sports-related pages and contribution by creating my first article on the President of an international sports organization, after which I have planned to create articles on notable sports athletes and personalities by keeping in mind the requirements especially the Wikipedia's Criteria for speedy deletion so that my edits are not reversed or deleted! I would once again want to clarify that I am not associated with any such paying entity or person and would like to continue learning how to contribute to Wikipedia from experienced user such as you.
