Do you think maybe we should start a new page on light sources, since beamline is about beamlines, like components on a beam pipe? Maybe include a seperate topic like the end of an accelerator, END STATIONS? Experimental beamlines, as I think that is what you are saying, experimental facility beamlines for users?

I have nominated as original research but feel that it is important to solicit additional opinions on the matter before an administrator is forced to make a decision. As I mention in the discussion on the [[AfD page - I think the underlying idea - to discuss the impact of classical Newtonian physics has had on other discpiplines and the impact that QM should (but in many cases has not fully) had on those same disciplines - is an interesting one; however, I need help in determining if existing article should be the starting point for such a discussion (or if this topic is covered elsewhere). "POV" tag in section of Alex Cockburn article

Since you asked my opinion on removing this tag, here it is. I would agree to it on one condition: that the section rebutting the last claim of anti-Semitism (the paragraph that currently starts with "It is worth noting, however") stays in the article, in some form or other.

Thanks. My first impression is that the Buddhism project is quite inactive in general - the project manager seems to be away with no word on when he'll be back and no deputy to look after things while he's absent (or are deputies a very un-wiki thing?) My main interest is Zen and Zen stories - if there's anything like that on the list I might have a go.

I appreciate your remarks on 'modern', also thanks for the 'cruft' link on your user page - I've never come across it before - also led me to 'kipple' - I've always admired 'Blade Runner' (especially Rutger Hauer's final superman speech) - I think it's time I tried some of his books. Catullus 16

Please read my comments on the talk page regarding the translation. I wouldn't want a bad translation transferred to Wikisource. I've read that poem many times, made reference to it many times, translated it many times. I took a graduate class on Catullus at a highly rated classics department in the northern Midwest. I think I'm an expert when it comes to translating Catullus 16. All I want is a chance to have a good translation put up here, and I'm confident I can do it. I can back up User:Billy Blythe's translation. I crossreferenced it with other translations available online, looked up each word in two dictionaries, and looked up some of the more complicated grammatical constructions. I was a regular from 1999-2001, but I've only visited one weekend since. The instruction and immersion at the level of Inner Tantra (Maha/Anu/Ati) is, or at least was then, unparalleled in the U.S., with the possible exception of Gyaltrul Rinpoche's Yeshe Nyingpo. --KGF0 ( T | C ) 12:55, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

The shambhala sangha is increasingly receiving the inner dzogchen instruction, and we're all about to start doing vajrakilaya at a certain point in our practice path. Before the karma kagyu vajrayogini/chakrasamvara cycle was our main sadhana; now they will have equal footing. Though to be fair we already had another dzogchen sadhana that was popular. Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo article

Kgf0, you were involved in the article after I left. I'm currently going through and cleaning up the mess I made of Jetsunma's article. I wasn't straight with you guys, though my spin-doctoring against Jetsunma was pretty obvious to the Wiki community I'm sure. I did not have scholarly integrity in how I wrote the article about Jetsunma, cherry-picking negative information to put together as negative a picture as possible -- even more negative than the most critical materials out there. I knew what to use because I was one of the main sources on the book, The Buddha From Brooklyn, which is major conflict of interest as well (especially since I didn't admit my involvement and presented myself as an outside party and then used that book extensively for the article). In fact, my real name is Michelle Grissom, formerly known as Ani Dechen, and am actually a student who broke with Jetsunma in 1996. I was one of the main reasons the book was so slanted against Jetsunma. I was not honest in that book either, slanting information exactly the same way I did here on Wikipedia: I used things that weren't really a problem for me because I knew they would upset non-Buddhists. Describing a confrontation where -- after 8 years of my rebelling against the monastic community and my breaking my monastic vows -- she yelled at me and swatted me once, I called it a "beating," simply because the police term for any kind physical contact is battery. I swept my own behavior that led to this under the rug. Jetsunma has been divorced several times, to men who either were or later became her students, and I used that in the article to make her look like she was sleeping her way through her students. I also used the generosity of her students as a way to paint her as being very greedy, even though she's never even asked for a salary, and blamed her for the ongoing struggle to build a monastery, even though the main reason the monastery hasn't been built is that the land bought for it doesn't perk. I've taken all the spin-doctoring out of the article and I am very, very sorry I abused Wiki for my own personal vendetta. Longchenpa (talk) 23:11, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
