Your pages edit

I noticed you attempt to deactivate RedirectCleanupBot. As X! mentioned, you appear to have misunderstood what went on here. Basically on 23rd March 2007 [1] you moved your user page and talk page to User:Keith Barrett. However this is not something you should do. If you want to change your username, you need to follow the process at Wikipedia:Changing username. Alternatively, you can simply keep your current user name, mentioning your real name in your user page and perhaps changing your signature to include your real name if you desire. So MZMcBride deleted the pages you moved [2] as according to Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#User pages for a user that doesn't exist. Ideally he should have simply moved your pages back but likely he didn't notice what had happened. Later, the bot deleted [3] your userpage and talk page of Kgbarrett because they were now simply broken redirects, redirecting to the non-existant username and talk page Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Redirects. So as you can see, the bot was doing its job. If you want your old user page and talk page back, you can probably ask for them to be undeleted and moved back to their proper location. Alternatively, if you are planning to change username, you may want to simply mention in your request. Nil Einne (talk) 08:11, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually no. I never moved anything and did not use my account in 2007. I can't explain what you or your bot saw, or how the bot acted, only that I returned after a few years and I was getting "no account" errors and had to recreate a personal and talk page. All I did was follow instructions that appeared on my screen with the error, which told me my data/connection was removed by a bot and in order to prevent the situation from happening I was it change the word allow to disallow. My contribution history was still there, so I don't think we need to do anything further. I am a little worried you assume I did things and the bot is now reactivated; I really was just logging in for the first time in a few years and getting errors forthe account and followed instructions, but I defer to your expertise. Everything seems to be working again; I have a lot to re-learn.
I did not know it was possible to have my username changed. To be honest I would like to change it to KeithBarrett. Can you point me to instructions for that process? Can that be accomplished while keeping all the existing links intact? Will previous username usage automatically change in previous edits?

Minor update: Removed all the spam going back to 2012.
