Hi Keysmith. I've reverted your edit to the footpad page, as it appears to be original research. As I've commented on the talk page, there doesn't appear to be any evidence to support the notion that the two words are connected: however, if you can find a reliable source to back up the claim, please feel free to re-add your edit.
