My apologies that it took so long to get your first article going in the main Wikipedia space! Next time, just make a Redlink with the name of your new article like this one in an existing related article, click on the red link, and start your new there. (The redlink technique is the secret sauce for people who make it through that crazy Articles for Creation process, and are ready to hit the ground running as a productive editor.)
We don't get very many people here who write articles of your quality the first time. No doubt the person reviewing it didn't have any background to realize that it's its own topic. It might get merged together with the other article eventually, or might not. I'll do a little more "wikifying" for you to make it pretty-- but that said, don't get all caught up in "how to edit," just keep on writing stuff! There are plenty of folks who can re-format your material, but not so many who can actually create properly cited content on a notable topic. You're welcome to e-mail or leave a note on my talk page if you'd like help-- or leave a note over at the WikiProject talk page.
Come join us over at Wikiproject Indigenous peoples of North America! It's one of the friendlier batches of folks on the encyclopedia. The folks there do a lot to make sure these articles have good sources, and represent the actual information of the tribes and peoples themselves.
