Chicago Meetup edit

It sounds like you have a an excellent reason for us to convene. As the director of WP:CHICAGO, I endorse your meeting. I think the best thing to do would be for you to post a notice at WT:CHICAGO. It is not clear to me where eChicago 2010 will be convening. However, since it seems like a date is set and you have a reasonable time, we just need to get feedback on the time and location from prospective attendees. Once you post a notice, tell people to respond at Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Chicago 3.1, where you should add some details on the time and location.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:16, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Are you going to mention this at WT:CHICAGO or would you like me to. Also, if you want any of us to be on a panel, let me know on my talk page.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:22, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I continue to be very willing to participate on your panel. I also continue to be willing to encourage a few other wikipedians who plan to attend to do so. However, if no one want to commit to attending, you will have to fill out the panel yourself.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:02, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am in conversation with Josh Levin, who blasted (starting at 39:10) me as a University of Michigan-crazed superuser in a recent Slate Magazine podcast about his potential interest in being on an eChicago panel. He asked me "What’s the panel, and when?" I then realized that I do not really know what the exact topic of the panel is that I have been asked to talk about. I gather it has something to do with the broadband moment, but I need more info if you would like me to try to convince him to be a panelist.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:58, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Tony, I need some help learning where to talk and watch for talk, I kept checking the meetup 3.1 page not my own ;-( ... Nancy is working with me on program and will get in touch with you but the main thing is we want to give that 75 mins to you and others (WPians, Josh) to talk about WP, to do a meetup, to have an session that connects with issues around digital life and community ... broadband is like the backdrop, other sessions are taking it on headon as other panelists are working on that directly. WP is more one of those things that more and more people will be using or contriuting to as more people have internet... and WP has its own growth trajectories and issues folks will want to learn about and help with. HOpe this helps. Unusually I am doing two conferences this semester http://go.illinois.edu/50years so Nancy is a key member of the eChicago planning team.Katewill (talk) 02:30, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alvenia Fulton edit

A tag has been placed on Alvenia Fulton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I found the link (Wikipedia talk:Meetup/Chicago 3.1) on your own talk page above. The meetup was just a few months ago.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:54, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
