Join the Recent Changes Patrol

One way that many users like to contribute to Wikipedia is by patrolling recent changes (RCP) for vandalism or other common problems.

While this task can be done with a variety of tools it is as simple as looking over the Recent changes link (in your navigation box on the left side of your browser window).

Subsets of Recent Changes Patrol include New Page Patrol and Newimages.

Hi

I recently added a link to the list of Java APIs, which you immediately deleted.

I don't understand the logic behind deleting such an external link.

If external links were not allowed then fine, but they appear to be allowed by the presence of other external links.

On the Java APIs page there are numerous commercial and non-commercial links which are clearly assumed acceptable by yourself and other moderators.

I've seen this kind of moderation from Wikipedia before and the rational does appear flawed. It appears a certain number of external links are allowed but no more.

Allowing come links but not others is a strange rule and contrary to free expression.

Request reason:

This account is not "only" being used for vandalism as Jac16888 claims above. Any poor quality edits were merely the result of misunderstandings and ignorance of policy. I am here to try and improve this site, not to make it worse. I have learned now what I can and cannot do, so I will never again perform bad edits.

Decline reason:

Simply not believable given the long string of sockpuppets this account is part of. Page locked. Mangojuicetalk 15:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
