"Women are everywhere" edit

Hi K.Grey. I'm an editor (not very active till now) of the Italian Wikipedia, where the gender gap is a real issue. I'm trying to participate to an IEG with the project "Women are everywhere". You will find the draft at this link https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IEG/Women_are_everywhere It would be great if you could have a look at it. I need any kind of suggestion or advice to improve it. Support or endorsement would be fantastic. Many thanks, --Kenzia (talk) 19:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Mary Godfrey edit

Hi, I'm Teblick. K.Grey, thanks for creating Mary Godfrey!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This could be developed into a good, solid article. Try to find reliable sources for the information in the second paragraph.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Mary Godfrey edit

Hallo K.Grey - nice to see yet another librarian / archivist around on the project. There are lots of us here - I think it goes with the territory, the wish to share and organise knowledge! (And in my case a mild obsession with cross-references from variant forms of names like Mary Emmeline Godfrey and Mary E. Godfrey - helps readers to find what they want, and reduces the likelihood of some future careless editor creating a duplicate article).

I've tweaked Mary Godfrey a bit: it looked to me as if what you'd listed as an "External link" was the reference supporting most of the main paragraph, so I've moved it into that role - another editor had commented that that paragraph lacked sources. I found a source for her date of birth and full name (probably not a very "reliable source" but I reckon OK for these basic facts). I've added lots of categories, and a few links. I just came across her while stub-sorting, noticing her as a stub which filed wrong (no DEFAULTSORT added - I've fixed that), and then got interested. And I'm still at the computer in my dressing-gown and should be getting on with Real Life stuff. Ah well, that's retirement.

If you created the article as part of the Art + Feminism Editathon, you should proudly add the banner {{WIR-AF 2017}} to the article talk page! Welcome to Wikipedia and I hope you enjoy editing here - it can become quite addictive. (See my user page for the random collection of articles I've created - I'm so glad I kept that list right from the start as I sometimes find an article where I'm surprised to see I created it 5 years ago and have no idea why till I check the list!).
