Famicom Wars-related business edit

I merged Famicom Wars and Super Famicom Wars just for greater context on both, while they still don't have very much content. Feel free to split them again when they're expanded, of course. Likewise, be a bit more careful about reverting; you destroyed all of my cleanup in the Famicom Wars article in addition to undoing the merge. I'm gonna revert Famicom Wars because of this; if nothing else, it should mention Super Famicom Wars in this way even if that article isn't just a redirect to FW.

Right now, Super Famicom Wars doesn't really stand on its own as an article; maybe you could fill in a little context/info? (I've honestly never played it.) If you want to do that, I'll make sure it gets into the right categories and such.

Hey, I was talking to A Link to the Past about something related to this: as far as I can tell, "Nintendo Wars" is a fan name for the series begun by Famicom Wars, and as such probably shouldn't be the term used on the English Wikipedia to refer to the series. Do you favor using "Famicom Wars" or "Advance Wars" to refer to the series as a whole, including the Japanese names? Famicom Wars is the name Nintendo has been using for the series since 1988 (and has used as recently as this year, with "Famicom Wars DS"), but Advance Wars is the name for all three of the English-language releases (and this is the English-language Wikipedia, after all). We need to change the references to "Nintendo Wars"...what do you think they should be changed to?

While I'm thinking about it, if you're making a change that is going to be disputed (particularly in the case of reverts), please don't attempt to carry on a conversation in the edit summaries, as this tends to beggar edit/revert wars (which aren't kosher). If your reasoning is going to be disputed or requires lengthy explantion, just say "reverted (or changed or whatever) per talk," then explain your reasoning on talk. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 02:14, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Jeigan edit

It appears that another admin has warned 24.168.74.153 about his edits to the talk page of this article. As for the article itself, I don't know enough about Fire Emblem to call his edits vandalism. Perhaps a good idea would be to provide sources refuting his claims. If this user becomes pushy or aggressive in any way, or seems to be ignoring attepts to reach an agreement, feel free to tell me and I'll be glad to assist.--Shanel 00:15, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reverted, obviously. :)--Shanel § 01:26, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm already aware of this. I have not had the chance to handle this because of events in my RL (which should at least be improving now, if only a notch). But I casted my vote. --Juigi Kario (Charge! * My crusades) 19:56, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Famicom Wars edit

I gave it a level of medium, because the first game was significantly more popular than any other Wars games. - A Link to the Past (talk) 21:28, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Light and girlfriend edit

The movie is the only adaptation in which Light has a girlfriend -- in the singular. We all know he kills Shiori at the end. The manga and anime have him pretend to have girlfriends but he always plays them off against each other and manipulates them. The creators stated in How to Read 13 that Light is "incapable" of loving a woman. He kills Takada in all three versions (in the anime and manga she develops a romantic infatuation with Light) - but he also maintained a relationship with Misa and used her.

I must also add that Light does not kill his father in any of the versions. He tries to in the film, but fails. He never tries to kill his father in the anime or manga. The person who shoots Soichiro is a guy named Jose - not Mello himself. WhisperToMe (talk) 11:21, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know he manipulates Takada in the manga/anime and kills her in all 3 versions. But he felt better with Takada than he did with Misa, although that's not saying much as you indicate.
And I'm not concerned with who shot Soichiro; if Light wasn't the one behind the gun, he didn't try to kill Soichiro. Granted, the fake 13 Day Rule would have ensured that Light would have had Soichiro killed somehow before long, but the point is, if he didn't try to kill his father, the mention saying Light tried to kill Soichiro is invalid all the same.
But you removed that part anyway. And just to let you know: I didn't add it at all. --Juigi Kario (Charge! * My crusades) 00:31, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:GBW3UnitInfoScrn.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:GBW3UnitInfoScrn.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
