Thanks for raising the issue. I don't think he's overstepped the line quite yet. I doubt whoever is behind this IP has any good faith towards Wikipedia but I would need further evidence of recent disruption to re-block them. I don't think he's there yet though he soon might be. Feel free to revert any overtly disruptive edits by him. User:Rookiee, if you're not aware, was banned for pushing 'pro-pedophilia' points of view. Also as a matter of policy, we don't indef-block IP addresses, because it can have very significant collateral damage. If this user keeps disrupting I would probably block him for a year or so. List internet beggers

Hi, I saw that you nominated List internet beggers for deletion stating that the redirect applies to awkward spelling conventions and such. I personally disagreed because beggar is commonly misspelled and if begger redirects to beggar, shouldn't this too? I removed your CSD notice, and I kept the page. If you disagree with my decision, message me on my user talk page. --Nishkid64 22:02, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, no biggie. I felt the combination of incorrect grammar (no "of") and spelling made it a rarity that someone would stumble onto "list internet beggers" as it were. The page had been deleted once by NawlinWiki because of the title combined with a lack of content at the time. ju66l3r 22:04, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bonnie and Clyde

Recently you deverted some stub articles I wrote conserning members of the posse who killed Bonnie and Clyde. Granted, they were a bit to verbaly colorfull. Give me one more shot at a series of cleaned-up versions. Since little has been writted about individual members of the posse is should be interesting to see if they expand. randazzo56 16:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your enthusiasm. I remain concerned that these members are not notable (except for their connection to the Bonnie and Clyde caper). If you re-establish these articles instead of improving their roles on the Bonnie and Clyde page, then you are going to need to meet the notability requirements for people that are listed at WP:BIO or the articles will be put up for a deletion discussion (where I'll recommend that they be redirected to Bonnie and Clyde again). ju66l3r 20:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I put Ted Hinton back in. His part in the situation is a story in itself and is a factual stub article. An article on the death car seems "Warren-ted". randazzo56

Just a heads up I've gotten from some admins, the CSD tag for G4 only applies to AfD discussions, not speedy deletes. Wildthing61476 21:27, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. Either it's been edited recently to be more specific or I've never quite read all the qualifications for the template or both. Thanks for the info. I've very infrequently used it without also attaching a more specific valid reason for speedy deletion...that got the article deleted in the first place (almost as a simple note to the deleting admin that this might be worth salting if the deletion history is packed full of kills). I'll be sure that I use it for the more specific XfD reasoning in the future. ju66l3r 21:35, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are welcome. Also be sure to archive any parts of your talk page rather than simply deleting them. It doesn't remove them from the page's history and seems as if you are ignoring other user's advice. ju66l3r 20:12, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Global Policy Innovations

Just so you know there's a new CSD for NN corps and other spam it's {{db-spam}} so no need to put it through AfD anymore. Whispering 23:03, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Db-spam should only be used for unrecoverable junk. This didn't quite seem to fit that mold, but thanks. ju66l3r 01:09, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi

Hi Ju66l3r Please keep the Cidco MailStation Article (I love entei 02:02, 14 October 2006 (UTC))Reply

Hi. Unfortunately, in its current state it's not salvagable as an encyclopedic article which is why I suggested it for deletion. This will be the decision of an administrator and not me personally. You should use the article's talk page to better describe why this item is notable enough to merit inclusion in Wikipedia. I will put some helpful links on your user talk page so that you can examine how to make a better article next time. Just because the article is deleted in its current form does not mean another, better version can't be put at that article title in the future. ju66l3r 02:05, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Articles in it have been Deleted Will you help me make it again i Copied the Stuff i made we can make a new article About it but modifiy some of it will You Help Make a New and Better One? (I love entei 02:28, 14 October 2006 (UTC))Reply

I have created a beginning page for the start of an article about the Cidco Mailstation in my userspace here: User:Ju66l3r/Cidco Mailstation. Please edit that link for now with any information you have and I'll look into making it into an article that is encyclopedic and worth keeping in Wikipedia. ju66l3r 02:57, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Deletion Review

Hello, I mean no ill will to you. I appreciate the times that I've worked with you in the past. I do however disagree with a recent AfD decision you made in regards to an article that I submitted for review. The AfD is located at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alix Rosenthal. The deletion review is located at Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion.2FAlix_Rosenthal_Review and your reasons on why you chose no consensus will be greatly appreciated in the review. Thanks. ju66l3r 19:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello and good evening! I don't take your request for review as a negative thing at all, don't worry! I have contributed to the review, as you have requested. Regards, (aeropagitica) 21:50, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for making the correction to (my rather embarrassing mistake) on Open Mouth Kiss. I use templates for my album articles and forgot to clear the contents for that bit! Bubba hotep 09:11, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem at all. I was just doing a little late night cruising of the new pages and noticed the disconnect between title and opening. Make sure Open Mouth Kiss is the band's fourth album. I don't know anything about that fact and it was in the same sentence. Thanks and you're welcome. ju66l3r 09:13, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The rest appears ok. What is late night for you is early morning for me. I need another coffee, maybe! Thanks again. Bubba hotep 09:14, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Gaal Dornick

I'm the original author of this page, which you requested sources for. He is a character in the book Foundation which I've linked to and even cited the chapter in the text, and the other book I know he appears in. I'm not sure what more you want to make the sources relevant. Do you think an explicit reference to all books he appears in as a list of references is whats required? Does that apply to all Asimovs characters? Codec 09:41, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I believe a book review or some such essay detailing the characters would suffice. For example, this might work. Or some sort of Cliffs Notes on the books that discuss the characters, their motivations, etc. The point is that because you quote the original book and then go on to discuss the character, you run the risk of writing original research and that is not what Wikipedia is about. So, instead you must rely on the sourcing of other's works (as per Verifiability policy) to justify the information on the webpage. Should all Asimov characters have this information? I guess it would depend on how much of it is out there for them to have. I don't plan on looking it all up, but if you want good Wikipedia articles about the characters, then it would help to have this type of sourcing as per the policies of Wikipedia. Hope that helps. ju66l3r 10:01, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please respond

To my article of deletion AutoCAD layers. thnx. --Endgame1 09:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have made my last response to your esoteric arguments. You are no longer discussing the merits of your article as per the written policy of this website. I am not going to debate on the AutoCAD Layer's AfD page as to whether this website's goal is as good or fulfilling as Google Books or any other nonsense you are quoting. Until you can answer how that article meets the WP:NOT & WP:OR policy against essays/how-to/original research, then you won't affect my opinion on the merit of the article. ju66l3r 10:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

What Wikipedia is NOT

Would you agree with me on my assumptions (as per the discussions on Autocad layers) on what Wikipedia should be? Or do you like it the way it is i.e. the policies of what Wikipedia is NOT? --Endgame1 12:08, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I do not agree with you. There are limits that are necessary and reasonable when it comes to verifiability, notability, and counter-productivity. This site has a very good set of established principles to guide its contributors in making sure that we don't spin our wheels trying to validate articles that can't be validated or are ultimately meaningless to anyone other than a very small number of people. I choose to apply these principles to new pages and old pages to help maintain the goals of the website. ju66l3r 17:12, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Checked it out. Lyfe Jennings is a convicted arsonists who now records music based on his life before/after jail for the arson-related charge. As it is though, I don't feel the list is necessary at all given that there is a category for arsonists available for auto-generating this list anyways. ju66l3r 02:32, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edward Sibley article

Hi,

I haven't actually finished the article on Edward Sibley yet. There are various points I have yet to mention:

He is the son of Nick Sibley, Financial Director of HSBC Asia. He was voted Brighton's sexiest bachelor in 2005. He won through to the UK Air Guitar Finals this year. He has discussed ethical issues with Peter Vardy

I need to read your Biography criteria. Can you suggest any ways I could improve this article?

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Razzthekid (talkcontribs)

The first thing you need to do is place the {{hangon}} template below the db-bio template in the article. Then make mention of what you feel will meet the notability criteria on the talk page for this person's article. That will let the administrator have all the information to decide upon whether he meets the necessary guidelines or not. The best way to improve the article is to make certain that you establish notability using reliable sources. Hope that helps. ju66l3r 23:23, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
