Telx edit

A tag has been placed on Telx, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Undeath (talk) 14:20, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Eric gutshall edit

A tag has been placed on Eric gutshall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Donut Peering Model, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. FYI conflict of interest guideline edit

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia in Global Financial Network, Allied Fiber, Donut Peering Model, IScroll, Mzima Networks, Hibernia Atlantic, or other articles, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara 00:33, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification edit

Hi. When you recently edited Jaymie Scotto & Associates, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Enterprise and Colocation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

March 2012 edit

Hello Jscotto. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Colo Atl, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Singularity42 (talk) 19:48, 27 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of IScroll edit

The article IScroll has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Basically an advert for a long-dead non-notable software project. No other wikipedia page links to this, no sources given other than a link to the dead project page

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:Lightower Logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lightower Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:08, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

3rd WP:Conflict of Interest notice over the years edit

Hello, Jscotto. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Jaymie Scotto & Associates, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. When making non-COI-exempt edits to article about a subject you are closely connected to, it is highly recommended that you disclose the conflict and propose the change on the article's talk page. COI-exempt edits include things like fixing typographical or formatting errors and removing policy-violating content, such as removing copyright violations and violations of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons ("BLP") policies (which isn't limited to biographical articles). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:06, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

By the way, had you merely removed the outdated information regarding actual people in these January edits instead of updating it, your edit would have been COI-exempt because the original information was not sourced and the edits fell under WP:BLP rules. Had it been sourced your edit would've still been COI-exempt but you would've needed to put a link to more current information in the edit summary or talk page so others wouldn't contest that this was a BLP-related (and therefore COI-exempt) removal. Adding new names and changing text is something that should have been proposed on the talk page first and the edit should have been done by a person with no COI. These edits from April should have also been proposed on the article's talk page and made by someone without a COI. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:14, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
