Lulu Convention Centre edit

A tag has been placed on Lulu Convention Centre, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Lulu Convention Centre and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Anna Lincoln (talk) 11:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Frankly.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Frankly.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 07:10, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of ESAF Microfinance & Investments Ltd edit

A tag has been placed on ESAF Microfinance & Investments Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I have performed a web search with the contents of Trichur Heart Hospital, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://hospitalskerala.com/thrissur_hospitals/trichur_heart_hospitals/index.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. Speedy deletion nomination of Trichur Heart Hospital edit

A tag has been placed on Trichur Heart Hospital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Your contributed article, 10 things to do in Thrissur edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, 10 things to do in Thrissur. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Thrissur. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Thrissur - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Beach drifter (talk) 14:17, 10 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Look, you just cannot upload images taken from random places on the internet (forums, picasa, google searches) and claim they were freely licensed without providing evidence. I've listed some of your files at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2010 May 25#File:Front of Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours.jpg and subsequent sections, and for quite a few more of your uploads I've used {{db-filecopyvio}}. If you do have written (e-mail) permissions by the copyright owners of all these photos to publish them here under a free license, then forward these permissions to WP:OTRS, stating clearly to which images the permissions apply. Otherwise, these images will be deleted as copyright violations. (The same also applies to the Commons!) Cheers, Lupo 15:01, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:06, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 17:24, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:ShakthanThampuranBusStand.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 17:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 17:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:-Mathrubhumi Office.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:-Mathrubhumi Office.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:32, 2 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. Peechi-Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Peechi-Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.prd.kerala.gov.in/peechi.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. You have again pasted content with minimal alteration into Wikipedia. On November 11th, you copied content from [1] into Kerala Forest Research Institute. Content you added included the following:

The Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) is an institution of the Government of Kerala under its Science and Technology Department, situated in Thrissur District of Kerala State in India. The KFRI is dedicated to research in tropical forestry, environment and biodiversity conservation. The institution was established in 1975 and later in 2003, when the Government of Kerala-owned R&D institutions were re-organized to constitute the Kerala State Council for Science and Technology (KSCSTE), KFRI also became part of the latter.

The source says:

Established in 1975, the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) is an institution of the Government of Kerala under its Science and Technology Department. The Institute is dedicated to research in tropical forestry, environment and biodiversity conservation. There was more.
You cannot copy content into Wikipedia, except in the form of brief clearly marked quotations. Otherwise, unless you can verify that the content is public domain or compatibly licensed, you must write it in your own words. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:16, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of COSTFORD edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on COSTFORD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —SpacemanSpiff 17:31, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem: Chit fund edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Chit fund, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.aiacf.net/history.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Request reason:

Please unblock my account. I know I had done a copyright violation. But ‘Chit Fund’ article is not copied. I had researched from other sources and blogs to expand this article.

Decline reason:

It was copied. It's perfectly obvious that it was copied and that you ignored previous warnings not to violate copyright. Your lucky to have only gotten a two week block, I would have made it indefinite. Creating copyright violations isn't just a bad editing practice, it exposes the Wikimedia Foundation to legal risks. If you can't contribute without copy/pasting from other sites then you can't edit Wikipedia. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:29, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Almost all your contributions that I have gone through so far are copyright violations (note, since you were blocked I've deleted three articles of yours and tagged another two). Based on the number of prior and current copyright violations you will be blocked indefinitely. However, if you are willing to clean up your violations we can reconsider that. Please list out here all your articles and where you copied them from and we can work out cleaning up the mess. —SpacemanSpiff 18:36, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

First you blocked for me for two weeks and now for one month. Is there any clear authority policy from Wikipedia? Is there a conflict of interest against me. For copyright violations, you people are giving me punishment in tranches, like 48 hour, the 2 week and now one month. Sorry dude, I am leaving Wikipedia. I know it will not make any difference for you. Better you block for lifetime, it is easy for me. Good Bye.

Decline reason:

You have been blocked for increasing periods of time because of your apparent inability to follow copyright policy here. You have given no reason now to unblock. Speedy deletion nomination of Manappuram Jewellery edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Manappuram Jewellery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Manappuram Jewellery and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Hello. This has been wtihdrawn. I have pointed out to Ironholds that you have had recent issues with copyright. In fact, I'm afraid that content you added in December to Economy of Thrissur is inadequately rewritten. For example, you wrote, "Thrissur’s goldsmiths boast of a tradition spanning several centuries, from the days when pepper, spices, precious stones and textiles were traded for the gold and other metals from Roman and Arab traders in the lost port city of Muziris in Kodungallur" to Economy of Thrissur in this edit. The 2006 source says, "Its goldsmiths boast of a tradition spanning several centuries, from the days when pepper and other spices were exchanged for the metal from Roman and Arab traders." Other content also follows closely on that source, and "The repeal of the Gold Control Act, introduction of provisions relating to gold in the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973, and the grant of permission to non-resident Indians (NRIs) to bring in up to 5 kg (subsequently raised to 10 kg) of gold on payment of a small duty (Rs 220 per 10 gram) in foreign exchange" is copied verbatim.
It is not compliant with our copyright policies to add content that is minimally altered from previously published sources. If sources are under copyright (and most are), you must rewrite from scratch. You cannot alter content by adding or omitting a few words, even changing a few words, without creating a "derivative work", which the United States law that governs Wikipedia will not permit you to do.
I do not believe that you are yet ready to submit articles to Wikipedia that are not flagged for review. You would likely benefit by reading over Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism". (It also constitutes plagiarism on Wikipedia to closely follow previously published text without acknowledging that you are doing so; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism.) Once you are clearly able to take information from your sources without borrowing distinctive language or structure, there should be no further concerns.
I note that you recently created an article, Gold business in Thrissur, which is copied from Economy of Thrissur. Unless you are able to verify that you are the sole author of content, you must acknowledge that content is copied when moving text from one page to another. See Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. It seems likely that you may be the sole content contributor at Economy of Thrissur, but that can't be verified if you edit it logged out. Accordingly, that copy should be attributed. Please let me know if you need assistance with the attribution process; I'll be happy to provide more information or to help. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:48, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Per comment below. This is your fourth request without really making a new argument; I think it's time we shut down this talk page so you won't be wasting any more administrative time. At least not so publicly; if you really want to keep playing this game we have a mailing list linked in all the block notices. — Daniel Case (talk) 05:39, 23 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

No. You were copying from an external website as was clearly explained in my block note. What you have been doing consistently doing is copying from outside on to one article, then recopying part of the same content on to other articles within Wikipedia. Over the past three months since your first block, you have not demonstrated any understanding of the copyright policy or any interest in following it. —SpacemanSpiff 18:51, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jos Alukka & Sons edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Jos Alukka & Sons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Shekure (talk) 10:39, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Better source request for File:File:Swaraj Round.jpg edit

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:30, 19 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
