Out of the ashes of the band "Atomic Fantasy" the Solo Project JOYSLAM was forged. Aboriginal artist RJ Martine (Vocalist/Keyboardist/Percussionist) was determined to create a unique musical style and that he did, evidenced by his recent signing to the major label Trilogy Records International, the label division of Trilogy Entertainment Group Inc., with offices in Toronto, Canada & Paris, France and affiliates in Los Angles, California & New York City, New York.
The debut CD "HEAT MOON" brings a explosive mix of Funk, Rock, Reggae, Dance and Ska that delivers with Style & Attitude!! The 10 Track Disc was mastered by Juno Award nominee, George Seara (Recording Engineer of the Year) and was recorded at the renowned B Musique Studios. The “Heat Moon” CD is currently being represented worldwide via Trilogy Group International and their distribution partners: THE ORCHARD ([[1]])& CD BABY ([2]) which includes Apple ITunes, Sony Connects, Napster, AOL and Rhapsody.
With over a decade of Music and Drama experience behind him, RJ has an intense passion for the arts, particularly music. After touring throughout North America, RJ cut his ties with Acting and concentrated all his efforts on Singing, and has expanded his range to 5 octaves. Joyslam’s rhythm section compliments RJ’s performance intensity by delivering a sound that is one of resounding groove, energy and flow - resulting in the rare balance of both technicality and feel.
Joyslam's Music is now receiving Airplay on Radio stations throughout the USA, Australia, France, UK and Canada as well as XM Satellite Radio, College Radio and Multi Music DJ Series, Hott Traxx cd's - the Industry standard for Professional DJ CD's [3]
To support the digital/retail and radio buzz, Joyslam has played several major Festivals including opening Rock Icon, Burton Cummings of the Guess Who to a crowd of over 50,000, and at the Worldfest Multicultural Festival with musicians from Australia, South America, United Kingdom & Africa. And by thousands of the CFL's Toronto Argonaut Football fans with a high-octane performance at the Rogers Centre. In addition, Joyslam have rocked the audiences at Toronto's prestigious Festival of Beer, Fort Erie's Friendship and Sunsplash Festivals.
Through the success of College Radio the band has played several College & University Campuses including Alma mater Humber College, University of Guelph, Fanshawe College, University of Toronto, and Niagara College. The band has now been booked for return
