Do you have any connection to FF Rarri?

edit

The photo you uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons, Commons:File:Wiki Rarri.jpg, looks professional. It appears to be a high-resolution version of an image the artists uses on SoundCloud[1]. If you have any connection to the artist at all, other than as someone who appreciates his work, you will need to be very careful when editing content about him on Wikipedia.

Please read the following pages regarding editors who have a "close connection" to the topics they cover: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure, and Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Also familiarize yourself with these pages that every editor writing about musicians should be familiar with: Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Notability (people), Wikipedia:Notability (music) and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 01:06, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

No Im Juat A Fan What Does This Article to be Accepted to the main page? in your opinion — Preceding unsigned comment added by JoshKaine (talkcontribs) 01:32, 7 September 2020 JoshKaine (UTC)
First, I'm not going to be doing a content-review of that article, it will need to wait for another reviewer. Second, on the Wikimedia Commons, you said the photograph was your own work, which suggests that you own the copyright to it. It's almost always the case that with professionally-taken photos, the copyright owner has some connection to the subject. There are exceptions of course. Sometimes artists will do professional poses for fans at events. The fact that it was nearly identical to a photo the artist is using for his own marketing made a very strong case that this photograph was taken by someone who is a friend, family member, or business associate of the artist. If that had been the case, then you would be considered to have a "conflict of interest" and possibly a "paid editing" relationship with the artist. Expect other editors to notice this and ask similar questions. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 13:57, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Some basic Wikipedia help

edit

When replying in a discussion like this one, it's customary to put your comment below the comment you are replying to.

It's also customary to add a colon (":") to the beginning of each line in your comment, including blank lines. This tells the Wikipedia software to indent your reply. If you are replying to a reply, add the same number of colons as the previous person, plus one more. Note: Sometimes, an asterisk ("*") is used instead of a colon. This will create a "bullet point" instead of a simple indent. If the person you are replying to uses an asterisk, use the same number the previous person did, plus one more.

Finally, it is customary to "sign" your comments using four tilde characters in a row ("~~~~").

Here's an example. Let's say you are the new user and I am welcoming you:

==Welcome== ''This section header is placed automatically, don't mess with it''
Welcome to Wikipedia. ~~~~ ''placed by me on your talk page''
:Thank you. ~~~~ ''This is your reply, use a colon to indent''
::You are most welcome. ~~~~ ''This is my reply to your reply, I count your colons and add one more''
:Oh by the way, how do you upload a file? ~~~~ ''Later, you make a second reply to my original "Welcome" so you only use one colon''
::Go to the Wikimedia Commons at [[:Commons:Main Page]]. ~~~~ ''I reply to your question, again, with an additional colon.''

This is how it looks. Note: For technical reasons I'm not going to include the section header or the comments in italics, and for technical reasons the ~~~~ expands to MY signature with the current date and time. I will go back in a minute and change the signatures to have fake times and put in your name.

Blank help requests

edit

Hi there, please don't add blank help requests, or duplicate help requests at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk as you did here, here, and here. The first one is fine, the other two are not constructive, as it just looks like you're mashing the help button. When you request help, ask a question, be patient, and when a volunteer has time, they will attempt to help you. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:34, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

And if you are responding to a previous comment, write below the previous comment, and indent your reply with colons. This new help request is not going to get your issue addressed any faster. It's just likely to confuse a volunteer who may not notice that you've already opened a help request. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:40, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

MfD nomination of Draft:Rarri Dream

edit

Draft:Rarri Dream, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Rarri Dream and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Rarri Dream during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Chess (talk) (please use {{reply to|Chess}} on reply) 04:38, 25 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:JoshKaine - What is your connection with Rarri Dream or FF Rarri? Your only edits in the past three years appear to have involved draft articles about them. If you have a conflict of interest, you must declare it.
As User:SmokeyJoe says, do not edit archived or closed records of discussions.
Rarri Dream is not salted, and you may submit a new draft, provided that you declare any conflict of interest. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:38, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have no connection to the artist I just thinks he deserves a wikipedia given he has press and news articles like I said If It isn't clear that deletion of the draft is the most appropriate way to deal with the resubmission then why has it been done. This is a legitimate up incoming music rapper which it says by his title on google he has many References they just have to be inserted correctly. If you put the draft back up I will assure that the excessive submissions won't happen again unless the page is ready and he has been posting on so really notable news outlets. He has also has had new press articles since then. JoshKaine (talk) 05:49, 9 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Your reason here JoshKaine (talk) 18:25, 2 December 2023 (UTC) I don’t understand why I am being blocked after I said, I have no connection with the subject Rarri Dream. They also are trying to say that I am the subject but I am not. I feel As Though I am being Treated unfairly because of my inexperience in editing. The Moderators are just doing what they want Not even justifying it. There is no way they can prove That I am the subject, or that I am connected in any way to the subject.I do admit that I submitted the subject’s draft too many times but now that I’m aware of what I was doing wrong it won’t happen again.Reply

Decline reason:

If you say you aren't connected to them, okay- but editing about the same topic and nothing else for years is usually a big red flag regarding COI. Whether you are connected to this musician or not, you won't be permitted to further promote them, so we will need to know what edits you intend to make instead. Note that "rising" or "up and coming" musicians almost never merit articles- a musician must have already arrived and be noticed by independent reliable sources in order to recieve the significant coverage needed to summarize in an article. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:03, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
