Dean (Singer) edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Dean (Singer), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Dean (South Korean singer). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:34, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Dean (Singer). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Dean (South Korean singer). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Dean (South Korean singer) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Wgolf (talk) 16:34, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Dean (South Korean singer) without explaining why. C.Fred Why cant you change the title to something else... the information YOU guys changed is wrong..

He's not South Korean? —C.Fred (talk) 16:52, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

C.Fred He's ethnicity is Korean BUT he's a singer in United States... He has been getting offers from Korea to release an album there.. but at the moment, he's a singer in the United States.

The user who moved it thought that was the next-best disambiguator available, since Dean (singer) is in use. The next best option would be Dean (singer born 1992). —C.Fred (talk) 16:57, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
For context, Dean (singer) was redirecting to Dean Delannoit, a Belgian singer who also uses the mononym. I changed Dean (singer) to a disambiguation page and used "South Korean singer" to distinguish that artist from Delannoit. Not sure about "(singer, born 1992)" because WP:QUALIFIER says that "Years of birth and death are not normally used as disambiguators (readers are more likely to be seeking this information than to already know it)". Distinguishing by nationality seems relatively common, from a glance at Category:South Korean pop singers. --McGeddon (talk) 08:12, 18 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Years of birth and death are used a lot for athletes—but then, it's easier to guess at which athlete you're looking for, based on when he played. The other logical disambiguator would be the subject's real name, but there's already a Hyuk Kwon with an article. —C.Fred (talk) 15:12, 18 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

User:C.Fred|C.Fred what about Dean (Singer-Songwriter)?

Is he truly a singer-songwriter? I don't see anything in his article to suggest that he performs in the folk-acoustic style. —C.Fred (talk) 17:00, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

C.Fred I dont think you know exactly what singer songwriter means? singer song writer means, he's a singer himself and writes for others/himself. I dont think you could read Korean... but here is his OFFICIAL discography in Korean as a writer http://music.daum.net/artist/main?artist_id=342313. and here's an article thats in english http://versedonline.com/v2/new-music-dean-deanfluenza-here-now-ft-milaj/

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk:Dean (South Korean singer), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
