Trump Movement (Populist) or Anti Establishment Movement edit
Populist (anti-establishment) movement or Trump Movement - is a grassroots conservative movement during the 2015-2016 election cycle that has been characterized as a rejection of the American political elites and political correctness. The movement continues to gain momentum with the goal to have an outsider win the Republican primary. It draws on heavy blue collar conservative ideas that appeal to a large segment of Republican voters. These appeals include blunt language, American nationalism and American exceptionalism and a pro-working class/middle class trade agenda. It rejects 30 years of Republican ideals that have largely benefited the rich of the Republican Party but left out grassroots conservatives with any economic gains. It is a total rejection of globalist Republicans who push multi-cultural agenda, a globalist trade agenda, and amnesty for illegal immigration. The movement supports a temporary ban on Muslim immigrants into the USA and wants lower level of immigration generally but does approve of legal immigration. The movement is strongly against its view of US political elites being taken advantage of or knowingly colluding with Mexican elites to keep an open border thereby protecting business interests of US companies that have substantial business investments in Mexico. This view is generally accepted to hurt middle class Americans thru wages being depressed and the large flow of drugs that is allowed to pass the Southern border and hurt everyday Americans.
