Whether you're Mark Bidiss or not, please stop plugging him as a "songwriter" in his passing mention in the Peter Cook article. The emphasis should be on Cook and the plaque, not the person behind the campaign (who arguably needn't be mentioned at all). --McGeddon (talk) 15:33, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Mark Biddiss requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

December 2008 edit

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Mark Biddiss. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Do not replace the speedy deletion templates with the hangon template. Put the hangon template below it. Cssiitcic (talk) 14:10, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mark Biddiss edit

I am going to delete the article Mark Biddiss again because it does not meet the inclusion guidelines at this time. That doesn't mean that later, when there is more information written on him as a person, that the article can't be recreated. For right now, though, there doesn't appear to be enough. The sources that you listed in the previously deleted version might very well be good enough to write an article on this particular song, but they don't talk enough about Biddiss to make them good sources for an article about him. My advice: wait a few months, and after his band actually releases an album, see if there are enough sources to create a full article about him. Do not recreate the article as it is now, however. If you have questions, please ask me. Wikipedia has lots of rules that can be hard to figure out, but once you get the hang of it you'll hopefully have a lot of fun. Here's the list of sources you had used, in case you don't still have those. Karanacs (talk) 20:32, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
copied from my talk pageMy advice would be to first read WP:BAND and make sure that Biddiss meets the inclusion criteria right now. Otherwise, the article will only be deleted again. Usually, aspiring musicians, even those with an album due to come out in the next few months, do not meet the inclusion criteria. The sources you had used did not establish that the subject met the inclusion criteria at this time. If you want to start a draft of an article, you can do so in your userspace. For example, create User:Jonny-Oxo\sandbox and begin writing there. When you have the article ready (and when the source show that Biddiss meets the inclusion criteria), then you can move it into the article mainspae. For now, though, since the article you had did not meet inclusion criteria, I am not going to restore it. 15:38, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
