Speedy deletion of "torch computers" edit

A tag has been placed on "torch computers" requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Gosh, I am usually accused of biting the newbies but Chris G's comment above is pure biting! Torch Computers will probably scrape through a notabilty discussion but first you have to write an article about them! "This article is being submitted because there are a number of references to Torch Computers for which there was no current article. These references include: GST" is not an article - it is material for the talk page (if it is needed at all). So it was quite right to speedily delete it. Start by creating a proper article in User talk:Jon Dane/sandbox then ask me or Chris G whether it is ready for the article namespace. Also, we do not create an article on multiple titles: we do not need Torch computers and we most certainly do not need "torch computers". -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 12:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
You shot yourself in the foot by starting with an empty article. I saw your draft and, more importantly, looked at special:whatlinkshere/Torch Computers and decided that it could go live straight away. For goodness sake learn wikilinks, we do not code "Charles Dunstone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Dunstone)". We simply do Charles Dunstone! -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 14:42, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

COI edit

I have only just noticed your e-mail address. If I had seen it earlier, I might not have been quite so civil (see for example this current discussion with a blatant spammer). However, in your case the article seems perfectly OK but I have noted your COI! -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 15:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
