Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Herb Alpert Coney Island.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Herb Alpert Coney Island.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 20:45, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 00:22, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Friendly reminder for you: Only upload and then use non-free files after the draft, which in this case is Draft:Coney Island (album), is accepted by a reviewer. Note that using the non-free file in the draftspace does not count. ~ Ase1estecharge-paritytime 15:31, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa: Thanks for this. It was and is my goal to use references as a source of information, not content, but I must have missed the mark. Looking at the revisions, it is not clear to me what was deleted. Was it in the last paragraph? Johnwellsking (talk) 23:27, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

The last paragraph, header "Personal", as well as smaller bits of prose elsewhere in the article.— Diannaa (talk) 01:25, 11 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

November 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Graham87. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks from Piano pedals. Redlinks are useful and can often be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" link (in the tools listed at the left in desktop view) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Please only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks! Thanks for the note and good recommendation, which I will abide. Johnwellsking (talk) 14:00, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Great work! edit

Brilliant work on all those Nelson Riddle albums! I've loved listening to his arrangments over the years, the incremental layering and the brassy bombast. Genius. Thank you so much. No Swan So Fine (talk) 08:24, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. Riddle deserves all the notoriety and credit he can get. In many respects he was deprived of it in his lifetime. For me it's a true labor of love. Johnwellsking (talk) 12:43, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I created Phil Silvers and Swinging Brass and listened to it on Spotify, some lovely moments. No Swan So Fine (talk) 08:56, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Outstanding! I acquired a used LP of the Swinging Brass years ago; a rare Riddle gem. In the article, I changed the link of the sitcom to point to the 1956 TV show, not the 1996 movie. Johnwellsking (talk) 12:50, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
