Ki Chung Kim Philosopher

Dear John B123,Dear John B1 Please do not delete the Ki Chung Kim Philosopher page. The citation you found in word press is my word press blog. I have shut down the Blog. Please put up my article! Thanks,Cdblachford (talk) 01:10, 29 June 2020 (UTC) Charles D. Blachford

@Cdblachford: The problem was that the text in the article was copied from the August 1976 edition of Black Belt (magazine). --John B123 (talk) 15:42, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Dear JOhn B123, I wrote the Black Belt article in 1976. You are right - they would have copyrights. I will re-write Ki Chung Kim's philosophy and re-submit. Cdblachford (talk)Cdblachford (talk) 19:15, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

@Cdblachford: Re-writing in your own words is fine. I would suggest you start the article at Draft:Ki Chung Kim and then when it's ready it can be moved to mainspace. I'm happy to have a look at it when you feel it is ready. Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:54, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your help. The article looks a little better "to me." I started the article as "draft ki chung kim." I will continue to improve it. Next step is citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cdblachford (talkcontribs) 16:00, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Martín Insaurralde

Hi, thanks very much for patrolling and rating Martín Insaurralde! Your work is greatly appreciated by all of us

Could you let me know what you think makes the article C-class rather than B-class? Any pointers to work on would be awesome!

Cheers, Naypta ☺ | ✉ talk page | 19:02, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

@Naypta: Hi. Martín Insaurralde is probably one of the better translations I have seen, well done! Although adding a class isn't an essential part of the new page curation, I like to do it at that time. Generally new articles will be start, stub or C class. Assessing as stub, start or C class articles can be done almost "at a glance", but assessing as B requires more depth. As there are so few new articles that are B class, I have to confess I don't usually carry out the assessment for B class.
I've checked the article against the B class criteria for biographies [1] and reassessed as B class.
On a side note, although you have correctly given attribution in the edit summary, it's recomended that attributation to the original article article is also given on the talk page using {{Translated page}}. Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:49, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

RE: Translating

Hi! Thank for your message, but you are wrong. I haven't translated it from the Spanish Wikipedia, I have used principally "África Pratt, entre el destape y su "rollo" con Jon Finc" [2], and I cited it. Greetings. Tajotep (talk) 19:17, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

@Tajotep: Hi. Apologies, my mistake. We have had so many new pages translated from Spanish lately without attribution that I didn't look closely enough in this case. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 19:27, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
Oh, don't worry. I appreciate your labor. Thanks :) Tajotep (talk) 19:31, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Boipariguda

Hello,

I have just added an article on Boipariguda after some research. I see some blocks in the article mentioning the Boipariguda article doesn't have any link to any other article in the wiki. I have added all the possible article links available. what else you are looking for?

Also, you are looking for news links- please note that the place I have added is a pretty remote place there are not many materials for it. I have added the govt resources available.

Please let me know if this is OK! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Checkright (talkcontribs) 16:18, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

@Checkright: Hi. The article need more references - news or websites that mention the district. A google search does show results for Boipariguda. Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:26, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
@John B123:I have added all the resources that are available. It is unfair to say that the article doesn't link to any existing Wikipedia article which it does with existing articles. And of course, I will add any resources that will be available. As I said above there are not many credible references available. The current credible material is from govt agencies which I have linked already!

Google search refers to sites that are mostly spam(example - census2011 website which is currently blacklisted!) there are many govt sites that come up as results but I have linked to the most relevant one.

@Checkright: Hi. Whilst some may be from spam sites, there are others that are not, for example the Times of India. --John B123 (talk) 16:41, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
@John B123: Sure. Times India is not a spam website. Did you go inside the search results to check what it says?- Nothing about Boipariguda, There are random articles about the place which for a fact doesn't relate to Boipariguda. Times of India is a news website that will come up for every search term because how they have set up their SEO. Let's encourage people to write new pages. There is a lot of scope to add new pages that don't exist for India!

I live just live 50km from Boipariguda. Let's have content which is a fact rather than material based on the news which mostly is not fact!

@Checkright: The article needs more references for verification, if you can't provide that then the article could well be deleted. --John B123 (talk) 16:52, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
@John B123: while I appreciate that you keep an eye on the articles created. You are defeating the purpose of Wikipedia(WP:5P2)! There are sources added from the Govt of India websites. If you are particularly looking for a new website, this article will no longer be neutral. I am feeling like WP:5P4 is not being followed in this case.
@Checkright: I feel I have replied to your questions with respect and civility and tried to be as helpful as I can. I find your accusations that I have violated WP:5P4 insulting and uncalled for. I suggest you involve an administrator if you think my requests that the article comply with WP:VERIFY are unreasonable. --John B123 (talk) 17:08, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
@John B123: You are doing a great job but I have put forward my points as to why I can't add additional resources. Even then the request to add external resources doesn't justify the article. My apologies if you think I have insulted in any manner to you, my intention is not to do that. We are all here to share information. I see there are many places that are not covered in India for which we will struggle to get credible information. My reference to WP:5P4 is for - 'Act in good faith, and assume good faith on the part of others'. Have a good rest of the day.
(talk page watcher) Checkright, I think what you're asking about is the Orphan tag on the article. That tag means that no other Wikipedia articles link to the article. It has nothing to do with how many wikilinks are in the article. Schazjmd (talk) 17:24, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
@Schazjmd: Thank you. I am sure there will be a lot of link to this article as this place has 260 villages under it!

Hi, John B123 Could you review/patrol Bharat Biotech. Also, I have added categories to stub Virendra Kumar Tewari as suggested by you last time. Thank you ~ Amkgp 💬 18:58, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Spicy (talk) 20:25, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

John B123 can you re-review/patrol Bharat Biotech. I find that the reviewer is indeed new. If the reviewer overlooks New York Times, BBC world, WHO, The Hindu etc and top peer-reviewed journals like Lancet and others plus verified US patents, and then tags 'self-published' then I can't help and I do not find it useful to comment on the review of an experienced editor without any convincing rationale. ~ Amkgp 💬 00:24, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
For your information Bharat Biotech is a leading vaccine producer in the world. I created the page as a part of Wikipedia:WikiProject COVID-19. They are currently in the first stage of Human trial of proposed vaccine COVID-19, permission granted by Government of India. I do not find what is the problem if we approach a reviewer. See User_talk:Amkgp#Note. Everything is supported by reference and many more are available. Thank you. ~ Amkgp 💬 04:36, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
As you're aware, since I explained this on your talk page, my issue is not with the notability of the article but the inclusion of blatant promotional language sourced to the company's own website. Spicy (talk) 09:21, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
@Amkgp: - You cannot simply remove tags because you disagree with them, especially whilst discussions are taking place.
@Spicy: - We seem to have been working on the article at the same time, and towards the same goal. I'm happy that the issues have been resolved now, do you concur? Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:37, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
I think the major issues have been addressed, so I'm comfortable with you re-marking the page as reviewed. Thank you for taking another look at it. Spicy (talk) 16:38, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

@Krishna's flute: I assume this is Muhammad Bin Tughlaq: Tale of a Tyrant. Deletion of page Renato Feder

Hello,

the page Renato Feder was translated from the Wikipedia in Portuguese, but the Portuguese version itself will soon be deleted, as it has been suggested "elimination by consensus" and the majority of the users participating in the discussion want the page to be deleted. Thus, I think that the English version of this page should also be eliminated.

--Lp.vitor (talk) 19:45, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

@Lp.vitor: Hi. The Portuguese article hasn't been deleted as yet, so a "might be" isn't really a reason for deletion. Also there are some differences between the English WP:POLITICIAN and the Portuguese pt:WP:POLÍTICA, so what might not pass the notability guidelines on one might pass on the other. In my view, "State Secretary of Education of Paraná" meets the English WP:POLITICIAN : Politicians and judges who have held international, national, or (for countries with federal or similar systems of government) state/province–wide office. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 20:08, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

John Agyabeng stub removal request

Hi John B123, I added some information on the John Agyabeng article. Hope it no longer qualifies as a stub. Can the stub template be removed now? If not can you give reason why? Thanks.Naa2Darkoa (talk) 22:58, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

@Naa2Darkoa: Hi. Deciding what is or isn't a stub is sometimes difficult as there are no hard and fast rules as to when a stub becomes a start class (see WP:STUBDEF). The article was, in my view, a borderline case but I didn't think it quite made start class. The extra content you have added has put it into the start class so I have removed the stub tag and altered the rating on the talk page. Regards --John B123 (talk) 23:30, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Just a thought

Someone was asking me about the page creations of a user, and I noticed you left quite a lot of draftification notices. I don't know if you knew that was happening (though I assume you're using a script) but if you're going to do a batch move like that, it's probably a good idea to either condense them all into one section/bulleted list, or not notify after the second or third time. Primefac (talk) 16:14, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

@Primefac: Hi. Yes I am using User:Evad37/MoveToDraft to move articles to draft. I do have concerns about the creations of that user. They seem to translating the text from articles on af.wikipedia.org without leaving attribution, formatting the text etc and then adding some bare urls as either references, sources or external links. I'm not sure what can be done about this?
Going back to your original point, I'll move any others I come across to draft manually. Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:34, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
@Primefac: Looking further into this, the articles are machine translations of Afrikaans articles. For example Protea subulifolia is identical, text wise, to the Google translation [3] of ar:Naaldblaarsuikerbos. In the first line of the article, the article's Afrikaans name, Naaldblaarsuikerbos, is retained with the actual article title, Protea subulifolia, in brackets. this is exactly the same as the google translation.
Moving the articles seems to be a waste of time as the the user simply recreates them in mainspace once the redirect has been deleted. --John B123 (talk) 17:57, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
John, in the future when you're dealing with bulk articles like this, whether it's CSD or moving to draftspace, please, please turn off the automatic notification and write a custom notification for them once. Imagine being a newbie and having your talk page flooded like that - it's confusing and unpleasant and it's unlikely to get them to respond. Praxidicae (talk) 18:37, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
@Praxidicae: Understood, will do. --John B123 (talk) 18:39, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Homotopy associative algebra

Hi John B123,

I saw you put an issue at the top of the new Homotopy associative algebra page. I added some more references with better inline citations, but I don't think increasing the accessibility can be improved very much because of the technical nature of the subject. Now, for someone who is familiar with homological algebra and Differential graded algebra I think the article should be somewhat accessible, but I plan on improving it by adding more examples and expanding upon the coherence condition definitions. If you have any specific improvements to suggest, I'm more than happy to listen to them on the talk page. Wundzer (talk) 18:53, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

@Wundzer: Hi. It's always difficult with technical subjects. If you write an article in simple terms so a layman could understand it, it's unlikely to be of interest to somebody with prior knowledge, who would want far more in depth content. Perhaps an introductory sentence of the concept in layman's terms would help? (As the subject is beyond my knowledge I'm afraid I can't be a lot of help to you). Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:10, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Prostitution in Eritrea

Hi
I added on prostitution in Eritrea other sources and books also of Italian origin I added that there were harassments, rapes and abuses by the Italian soldiers who were in Eritrea (all verified by historians and witnesses and can be read in the sources and books)
she writes that women were there to "sexually satisfy the soldiers" I think there is also a way to write, they were not there to satisfy the soldiers most of the time they were rapes and abuses so it would take a little respect, do not you think?
io sono nato in Italia ma di origine inglese le sto scrivendo in italiano, in Italia ho studiato questo periodo "inferno" drammatico che hanno vissuto sopratutto gli eritrei.
I was born in Italy but of English origin I'm writing them in Italian, in Italy I studied this dramatic "hell" period that Eritreans lived above all.--Rudolph Edwards (talk) 22:27, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
@Rudolph Edwards:. Hi, looking back at the edits, I may have been hasty in reverting your changes - apologies for that. There have been numerous editors trying to rewrite history to their POV on Asia and Africa topics, deleting sections and rewriting to fit their agenda and I assumed your edits were along those lines. Thanks for your efforts to try and expand and improve the article. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 23:11, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Farewill

You've added an 'advert' Tag to the Farewill page. I was surprised not to find any explanation for the rationale, for a relatively subjective tag, on the Talk page. I'm sure that you didn't mean to WP:DRIVEBYTAG so could I ask that you please provide some feedback, or ideally help improve the article, so that we can, together, work towards a better article and removing the tag? Itsfini (talk) 22:31, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

@Itsfini: Hi. The tag was added as part of the Wikipedia:Page Curation process. Knowing nothing about Farewill previously, the page came across in a similar way as something written for the company's website. Whilst I'm sure everything in the article is factual, it seems written to show the company in the best light. For example, the article says Farewill is registered with the law society, but doesn't mention it's a non-SRA-regulated law practice. The page came across to me as being so promotional that further explanation of the Advert tag was unnecessary. Regards --John B123 (talk) 23:00, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

The article talks about their unregulated status in the history section, along with, in the same section, further criticism from the FT that extra technology is not needed in the industry (which obviously cuts across their whole business model). Perhaps it is an ordering/prominence concern? I’m just trying to get some actionable feedback as at the moment it is not immediately obvious what to change and I’m loathed to start taking stabs in the dark for fear of wasting everyone’s time making changes on text that’s not in dispute whilst leaving unchanged parts that are. Itsfini (talk) 23:17, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Regarding speedy deletion of Lightstep, Inc.

Hi as you've said that the article on Lightstep, Inc. but actually the current text was written by mistake. The old article on Lightstep, Inc. was deleted without any reason. Fukiage Palace

Hi, I have seen that you have put an "improve" tag for additional references on the Fukiage Palace article. I have therefore added a couple references, they are a bit overkill in my opinion as they don't provide more info than what was already available, but that's fine. They are all in Japanese (and all from reliable sources, either journals, newspapers or newssites), I am not sure there are a lot of detailed info in English available, the contrary is quite possible. Most English sources would be about the palace where Hirohito lived, which has been renamed since (I have put a header intro to disambiguate this point). I don't think there is any usable photo available for the palace, it's not accessible to the public and the Imperial Houselhold Agency is quite strict on that. I was thinking of using the aerial view you get with googlemaps as an illustration, but I don't think it's usable either, that's why I put several "External links" which have nicer pics of the palace. Anyway, I'd appreciate if you could take a looka and point out what could be improved. Tensaibuta (talk) 10:09, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

@Tensaibuta: Hi. Whilst references in English are preferable, if they are not available foreign language references are perfectly acceptable. Generally each paragraph needs to be referenced. The paragraph starting "This palace is where the Emperor lives..." needs a reference as does the last one. I suspect one of the existing references could be reused there. I've removed the improve tag and marked the pages as reviewed and also made a few small changes. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 10:28, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
OK,yes, I understand that English sources would be better, I looked for some. If I find any, I'll put them. I have switched some of the references to be more relevant (but can I use the same reference for multiple paragraphs?). Tensaibuta (talk) 11:14, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
@Tensaibuta: Using the same reference in multiple places is fine. --John B123 (talk) 11:19, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Understood. I'll try to avoid it though if I can though. I have added another source and tried to structure a bit the article.Tensaibuta (talk)

Kindly provide me some help to enable shortdesc helper script on my js page, I am facing problem while enabling, thanksMajun e Baqi (talk) 10:14, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

@Majun e Baqi: Hi. You don't need to add the script to Special:MyPage/common.js (or Special:MyPage/skin.js if you are using a different skin). If you've added it there remove it. Go to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets, scroll down to the "Editing" section and check the box "Shortdesc helper: easily add and edit page short descriptions" and then save. It may take a few minutes for the script to show on pages due to caching. Regards --John B123 (talk) 10:39, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

European Center for Kurdish Studies

Hi John B123, I know it is a difficult page. There is not really a lot to write about the center, the "European Center for Kurdish Studies" is just an office in Berlin, and it has the two mentioned leaders and a “librarian“. The center opposes the only party that has achieved that schools teach Kurdish in Syria and support a Government who prohibited Kurdish at schools. But I can't source this fact, as no-one has written like this yet. But maybe there will, and I'd be glad to add it, once the article is available.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 17:20, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Kenneth Moton

Hey you left a message on my talk page about the deletion.

You asked me how he was important.

The reason I made the page is because he is the co-host of ABC World News along with Mona Abdi Kosar, the other co-host who has a page as well.

I'm not sure how she has one and he can't. Because they both are significant if they both host the show.

I'm not sure how wikipedia users get to say who is significant and who isnt and that's been a reoccurring issues for a few people who wasnt pleased with my new pages. Especially when sources are given. Tropetroop29 (talk) 08:03, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

@Tropetroop29: Hi, the page Mona Kosar Abdi was created in 2014, when the criteria for inclusion were possibly not so stringent. I note the page has been tagged as "may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline". Biographies nee to comply with WP:ANYBIO and probably in the case of Kenneth Moton also WP:JOURNALIST. Whilst notability needs to be demonstrated with sources, press coverage doesn't necessarily mean the person is notable. Take for example people in reality shows. They get a lot of mentions in the press but have no real reality. Wikipedia is based on consensus, so the notability of an individual can be discussed on the talk page and agreement reached. To get more people to join in the discussion you could start a WP:RfC. Regards --John B123 (talk) 08:41, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Indera P. Singh

Hello! Thanks for putting up the "one source" tag at Indera Paul Singh. I have added a few more references to the article, but still, most of the content remains sourced from an article from a journal. That article is still the core of the content but the situation has improved since your last visit to the article, though much work remains to be done. I want to ask that can we remove the "one source" tag now or that threshold is still not reached? Thanks, Мастер Шторм (talk) 13:10, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

@Мастер Шторм: Hi, that all looks fine now. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:47, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Review not showing

I received a notification that you've reviewed the page for Fort Sask Transit. However, the review is not showing up anywhere, and I've never submitted that page for review in the first place. Was this a mistake, or a bug? The notification simply says: " The page ‪Fort Sask Transit‬ has been reviewed. John B123‬" Thank you for your time.

@CplKlinger: Hi. The notification is part of the New Page Curation process. The "review" is primarily to weed out unencyclopedic new pages and also to ensure new pages meet a minimum standard (are referenced, added to categories etc). There is no written review as such and if there are any shortcomings on the page then a suitable tag is added. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 19:53, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the quick response, I greatly appreciate it! CplKlinger (talk) 03:36, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Your edit was reverted

I just wanted to let you know that an editor reverted your edit on the Susan Collins article and gave no reason other than they accused your edit of being done by a 'sock.' I just thought you should know.SeminarianJohn (talk) 00:41, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

@SeminarianJohn: Hi, thanks for letting me know, but I think it was an earlier edit that was reverted not mine. Regards --John B123 (talk) 15:56, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
