Suggestions for draft edit

Check out the top of your draft, I have some suggestions on how to get this over the hump and published (which we are close to but not quite there yet). Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/John O. Johnson, White Bear Lake. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:38, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, you almost have the footnoting coding right, but not quite. I straightened a bit out for you, so if you can just fix the few remaining ones the footnotes will all be nice and clean. Sorry that it's a little confusing figuring out how to code them right at first, but once you learn it it's really easy, and it's nice and organised and foolproof. Article published edit

Hello, you seemed to be having some trouble figuring out footnoting, so I fixed and cleaned it up for you, added WP:wikilinks, and applied WP:Categories. So now it's a basic article and published. Better footnoting (especially as many whole sentences/paragraphs are unfootnoted) would be better, but we can roll with this for now.

The main next step would be to add photos. The general idea is that we can freely use pre-1923 photos since those are out of copyright, but for any post-1923 photos we must file a WP:OTRS ticket with Wikimedia Foundation indicating that the photos are released under a WP:Creative Commons license. That is, you or whoever is the inheritor of the copyright of the photos would have to file a document with the overall Foundation (not me personally) if you have any intent to use post-1923 photos in the article. But pre-1923 is just fine if you have any of those, you can upload them directly to Wikimedia Commons.

If you have any trouble uploading photos, let me know by posting on my Talk page. And incidentally, I am an actual person and not a robot, so you can respond to my posts here so we can communicate rather than it be all one-way. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:58, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
