Orphaned non-free media (Image:NMLogo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:NMLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Dunhammedal.jpg edit

Just to let you know that I recently copied the above image that you uploaded to Wikipedia over to WikiMedia Commons, the Wikimedia central media repository for all free media. The image was either individually tagged or was in a category tagged with the {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}} template. Your image is now available to all Wikimedia projects at the following location: Commons:File:Bush presents Medal of Honor to family of Jason Dunham.jpg. During the move I changed the name of the image to better reflect Naming Conventions policy, duplicate file name and/or Commons naming restrictions. Any links to the image has been updated to reflect the new name as it exists now on Commons. The original version of the image uploaded to Wikipedia has been tagged with WP:CSD#F8. Cheers! --Captain-tucker (talk) 19:07, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:Lopedeagguire.jpg edit

File:Lopedeagguire.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Lope de Aguirre 2.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Lope de Aguirre 2.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 00:43, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Joebengo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 946 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Agustín Ibarrola - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File source problem with File:Flood1913.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Flood1913.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:38, 6 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. Re: Hey Husond! edit

Hello Joebengo. Sorry, but I must decline your request, as semi-protection is not to be used preemptively. If any vandalism erupts as you say, semi-protection can be promptly granted. But not just yet... Thanks. regards, Húsönd 16:12, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer granted edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:46, 20 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mary Jo Kilroy edit

You never contacted me about Mary Jo Kilroy being under WP:GAR.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:52, 29 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have renominated her bio with all the articles mentioning her in The New York Times, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report and Time Magazine since her election. I don't know if this passes your objection, but you could review it or I could wait for it to go through the queue.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 08:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
