My RFA edit

You supported my candidacy in my recently completed request for adminship. The debated ended 40/4/1 and I'm now an administrator. I'd just like to say thanks for taking the time to consider me, and thanks for the confidence in me. I hope your confidence in me proves to be justified.

Regards, WilyD

Evening edit

Hi. Are you User:Yuser31415? Matthew 18:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

What the...? Peacent 18:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

No I am not Yuser31415. Why do you ask? JodyB talk 18:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh dear, as I have absolutely no clue why he suddenly came up with such weird ideas, I suggest you ask him. Peacent 18:30, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I heard a suggestion, so I thought I'd ask you straight out. Matthew 18:43, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
What does that mean? Please be specific. JodyB talk 18:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
"somebody" suggested you are Yuser, I decided to ask you (now there can be no speculation, as you've given a definitive answer). Matthew 18:47, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I wish you would say who made such a suggestion and what their reasoning was. However let me be crystal clear: I am JodyB. I did previously work under a different user name which I ask for, and was given, a change. I have never editing under an anon or IP account unless it was because I failed to log in. May I ask that if you do not feel comfortable telling me who suggested I was associated with that account, would you at least ask them to speak to me directly. They can speak to me here or email me either one. Thanks JodyB talk 18:50, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll give her a nudge but won't name names. I didn't like the insinuation so I thought it best to ask you. Matthew 18:58, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I sure appreciate your attitude and the fact that you came to me. As you know, such a suggestion is troubling. The odd thing is that I have never had a conflict that would cause someone to even suggest such a thing. Anyway, thanks for your effort and willingness to ask. JodyB talk 19:38, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Curiousity edit

I use a script to easily manage nominating articles for AFD - and I notice it keeps placing the new entry at the bottom of the page versus the top - and I possess no skill whatsoever in programming language (Java, C++, Borg, etc.). How is it possible to correct this script to place AFD listings at the top of the page? --Ozgod 05:00, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would seek out someone else for help. I am not at all good at programming. If you can't find someone let me know and I'll check around. Sorry. JodyB talk 05:03, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

Thanks for the welcome to the AL project! I grew up outside Birmingham, in Pelham. :) Aleta 17:43, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My RfA edit

Hello JodyB,

Thankyou for voting in my RfA. You will be pleased to know that it has been successful!! Meaning that I, Reedy Boy, am now an English Wikipedia Administrator.

It passed with a suprising 47/0/0, and I really am grateful of all your support, and I hope that I live up to your high expectations!

If there is anything I can do to help you out, please, do not hesitate to contact me!

Yours,
Reedy Boy 16:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

YechielMan's RFA edit

Thank you for participating in either of my unsuccessful requests for adminship. Although the experience was frustrating, it showed me some mistakes I was making, and I hope to learn from those mistakes.

Please take a few minutes to read User:YechielMan/Other stuff/RFA review and advise me how to proceed. Best regards. YechielMan 21:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

Hi, I am having a good day. Hope you are too! Sources are extremely important. All articles should cite sources. But, you don't delete an article simply because it doesnt cite them.....you find sources, and then you cite them. If you cant find sources on the internet, you can often find them from other places, like books in libraries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stephanie (talkcontribs) 19:30, 5 June 2007

My RfA ... edit

Hi. Thanks for supporting my request for adminship. It was successful and I am now an admin. If I can ever be of help, please let me know. Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 05:43, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Haza edit

Hi Dweller, hope all is well with you. I see you redirected Haza which is probably a good and needed thing. But since it's up for AfD should we either close the AfD as delete which is so far unanimous, or hold on the redirect? I'm afraid that someone will be confused if they go to Haza, get the redirect and think I am trying AfD the redirected article. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks! JodyB talk 18:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi JodyB. I thought I closed the AfD before creating the redirect. It's the first AfD I've closed, so perhaps I got something wrong. --Dweller 19:09, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My RfA edit

That's me...

Dear JodyB, thanks for your support in my recent RfA, it was, however, unsuccessful. I am not the type of editor to be disheartened by such a result, and have gained much experience. If you have anything to contribute by way of improvements or comments, please don’t hesitate to tell me.

I will run again. Until then, Cheers, Dfrg.msc 08:33, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA Thanks edit

Thanks...
Thank you for showing your support in my recent RfA. Unfortunately, consensus was not really going my way, so I decided to withdraw my self-nomination last night. The final vote tally was (15/7/10). Your support does mean a lot to me, and I will certainly let you know when I go for my next RfA, most likely in a few month's time. Thank you again, and happy editing! Deichkind edit

After being away for a short time I've now returned to continue editing the article Deichkind. I've noticed the AfD and completely agree with the reasons given the article at the time. However I've made some more edits and welcome new feedback.

 Thanks, akuyumeTC 02:47, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My RfA :) edit

Thank you, Jody, for commenting on my RfA, which closed successfully with a tally of 76/0/1! I hope I will meet your expectations, and be sure I will continue trying to be a good editor as well as a good administrator :) If I may be of any assistance to you in the future (or if you see me commit some grievous error :), please drop me a line on my Talk page.

Again, thank you, and happy editing! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RPM_ie edit

Hi, In relation to your comment on Declan J. O'Connell, I have placed a reference to the Law Society of Ireland. I trust that this is what is required.

He wants to put a "retired" banner on his userpage. I told him to be patient because I'm discussing this with other individuals involved here. I took his comment to mean he is going elsewhere (i.e. off wikipedia) while he waits for an answer. He definitely should not be editing.--Isotope23 14:56, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My recent RfA edit

Thanks for your support in my recent, unsuccessful RfA. It's much appreciated. IvoShandor 16:06, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA edit

Thank you visiting and commenting at my RfA, I have tried to expand on my philosophy and answers, and hope that these address your concerns. Even if they don't, thanks for stopping by. DrKiernan 12:43, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Editing while blocked edit

Hi, I saw your question on Isotope23's talk page regarding FlameViper. Blocked users can still edit their user and user talk pages at will; they're just blocked from editing outside their userspace. In general, they're given some latitude on their talk page, but if they end up using the talk page or user page to continue being abusive, then the pages can be protected (see Template:Pp-usertalk, for instance). Hope that helps, and keep up the good work. MastCell Talk 16:51, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, thank you. I understand that. It was more the context of the message that kind of concerned me and given the back and forth about the case I just wans't sure what was happening. I was hopeful, maybe naive, that he would do differently but I certainly agree with the recent decision. Thanks for keeping me clear. JodyB talk 02:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sure... sorry to jump in without getting the context, and for misunderstanding. Keep up the good work. MastCell Talk 19:09, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Walton edit

You are absolutely right. And the faculty position at Case Western Reserve was Professor of macromolecular science .. BUT the refs you are adding don't seem to be coming out right--there are no functioning links--please check for typos in the formatting. DGG 22:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

    • I found the typo and fixed the refs. & added the NYTimes. Will add titles of his papers soon.

Congratulations on the rescue. DGG 23:07, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I did purge the pages cache, and reverted the monobook, but it still happens. --Meateater 11:47, 16 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you X 100 edit

Thank you very much for supporting my RfA, which closed successfully yesterday... W00t! I hope to be a great admin (and editor) and I'm sure you can tell that my use of a large, boldfaced, capital "T" and a big checkmark image in this generic "thank you" template that I swiped from some other user's Talk Page that I totally mean business! If you need anything in the future or if you see that I've done something incorrectly, please come to my Talk Page and let me know. So now I've got a bunch of reading to do.... see you around! - eo 13:38, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA thanks edit

Hi JodyB. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. It means a lot to me to have your individual support and the collective support of so many others. I truly will strive to carry myself at a level representing the trust bestowed in me as I use the mop to address the never-ending drips of discontent in need of caretaker assistance.
