WNYT (internet radio) edit

I'd be happy to help you improve this article if you could point me to some references, especially those that show that it was licensed at some point. Take a look at WP:RS for info on what is considered a reliable source. Also familiarize yourself with WP:COI, given your connection to the station, it's not appropriate for you to update this article but I, or others WP:WPRS volunteers would be happy to help.--Rtphokie (talk) 18:58, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you! As you may have been able to tell, I'm somewhat new to Wikipedia, so please excuse me if I violate any etiquette, rules, etc. I've been doing my best to read the various guideline pages. Is it appropriate for me to respond to you on my talk page, or should I have responded on yours? Thank you for offering your assistance to help updating the article. I am in the middle of finals, and don't have alot of time to dedicate to this right now, but I will try to find some sources throughout the coming week. Finding recent sources that comply with WP:RS might be difficult, because the station hasn't been in the news recently. If it weren't for its rich history, I'd probably agree with your initial notion that its article should be removed/merged. I would imagine that WNYT was the subject of many articles in the 70s and 80s, but finding them online may prove difficult. I am going to ask some people at NYIT if they can point me in the direction of some sources -- there may be a list somewhere. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that much of the station's history has been passed around by word of mouth. Is there a place for such information in a wikipedia article? --Jimbro727 (talk) 22:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • Could you add a new section to the talk page on WP:WPRS requesting assistance updating this article? You can put your sources there, especially those that establish that this station was licensed at one time. Rich history or not, if reliable sources cant be located, the article will likely be nominated for deletion once again but that shouldn't happen for a couple of months since it's survived a AFD.--Rtphokie (talk) 13:01, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
