Creating an article edit

Hi. I was about creating an article. The problem is the article was deleted post deletion discussion just because it failed marginally on BLP guidelines. There are more better sources now, if you can lend a helping hand it would be great. Seawarm (talk) 06:29, 5 July 2015 (UTC) Seawarm (talk) 06:29, 5 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am a little busy in real life and may not be always available to help you. However, you should first create article in your user space. Check for reliable sources. Other editors can help you expand and edit the article in your user space, if you wish so. Once it satisfies to Wikipedia guidelines, you can move the article to main space. Thanks. Thanks. The reason why I contacted you is because you're a regular Indian wikipedian. My writing style may be have COI and that is what I am fearing all about. Seawarm (talk) 15:28, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. Proposed deletion of Chaukalshi edit

The article Chaukalshi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I'm not seeing any significant and/or non-trivial coverage in any reliable source (books, scholarly dissertations et al), to justify a standalone article.Hits in census-directories and other trivial name-mentions are located but that does not quite make it:)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Winged BladesGodric 12:30, 15 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Shakti Singh edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shakti Singh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Devyani Khobragade edit

I'm not sure why you requested the speedy deletion of Devyani Khobragade, your rationale made no sense and was malformed. You said that "the page Devyani Khobargode was moved as per this discussion", which should have had no bearing on the status of this article, since the page was also not moved (I'm not sure why it would have been) and there would have been no reason to delete the redirect even if it had been moved. Please explain.--Auric talk 11:04, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Earlier the page was created as Devyani Khobargode but was moved to Devyani Khobragade incident as per discussion, so I dont know why someone again created Devyani Khobargode page. As per AfD it merits deletion. However, I noted you created a redirect for now. Ideally you should have put your argument on article talk page and let an Admin decide on CSD tag. Rollback usage edit

Please do not use rollback when the edit you are reverting is not blatant vandalism. Rollback is not to be used to gain an upper hand in edit wars, doing so can lead to revocation of the permission. Regards.  << FR (mobileUndo) 10:28, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@FR30799386 (talk · contribs) - In first case AfD nominations should not be reverted, you have reverted my AfD tag twice. I am still not able to understand what made you to revert AfD nomination tag ? I was already in talk with one Admin to resolve the issue that deletion link is going to one old Afd Jethwarp (talk) 10:30, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I didn't get the ping. I have created Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Devyani_Khobragade_(2nd_nomination) for you, please add your rationale.
Looking at it from my perspective, adding a malformed AfD template to an article which has tons of sources after trying unsuccessfully to nominate it for CSD makes you look like an editor who is out to push a POV. Over that, the usage of rollback in this case wasn't appropriate. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Regards. << FR (mobileUndo) 11:47, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Well it was sensible and nice of you to create manual AfD tag to undo what you did. However, your perspective is malformed It is a norm if CSD is not successful AFD should be the next option and it is always for healthy discussion. I will put my rationale of AFD. When someone reverts AFd rollback is appropriate, you did things in haste. RegardsJethwarp (talk) 12:01, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
No it doesn't, WP:ROLLBACKUSE states the use-cases of rollback. There isn't any mention of using rollback to revert the removal of the AfD tag. I agree that my actions where in haste and I should have exercised caution while making my edits. However, that cannot be used as an explanation of your edits. Your inability to understand this is more concerning than the revert itself. I hope we can settle this amicably. << FR (mobileUndo) 12:56, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
P.S : I personally would have removed the AfD tag while I waited for an admin to help me out with my edits. << FR (mobileUndo) 12:56, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
For me it is already settled, I always assume good faith and avoid discussions on issues that are trivial and avoid arguments. Have a nice day, Bye & ThanksJethwarp (talk) 13:02, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
