Re: edit

I truly thank you for the overwhelming barnstar that you gave me, but I think I do not deserve it because the discussion between us is a matter of WP:COI not justice. I've known him for a long time and he surely deserves to receive a barnstar if there is a Korean related barnstar (I intend to make it sooner or later). But your description in the award gives me some worry and can be used for some unpleasant accusation against you. Sorry but I could not help to redact some comments. --Appletrees (talk) 17:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Personal attacks edit

Please refrain from making personal attacks against other users, as you did against me here. As a long standing contributor to Wikipedia, I wholly resent the implication that I am a "fraudulent user". You are new here, and assuming good faith about your intentions, I do not see why you are taking such an interest in my recent dispute with another user, which is really no concern of yours. May 2008 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on User talk:Appletrees. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. ... richi (hello) 17:49, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

much later edit

I stumbled upon this recently, and joined wiki for the first time for the express purpose of addressing it:

"If you only knew a little bit about the devasting suffering of Koreans at the time, you would not dare to write this. I am sorry this may sound rude but the humiliation these people suffered is far greater than anything else in the modern world history, including the Holocaust.

the world has more focus and attention to Jews and the Holocaust because of the number of people killed but takes no account of cultural genocides that have happened in Korea, which cannot be measured statistically. I am not emotional and this is hard facts from real life historical accounts of those who have experienced this directly in front of their eyes"

I'm just not clear how you can assert that the humiliation [implicitly all] Koreans suffered during this period is 'far greater than' all of the other atrocities peoples all over the world have suffered during the modern era, then go on to state that the reason the world has generally been more concerned with the holocaust is that the suffering you speak of is not supportable statistically. Just how are you quantifying 'far greater than,' if you can't really support your assertion with any sort of statistics? Do you know how many people were murdered in Stalinist Russia? How many were forced to uproot and renounce their heritage? Do have any idea what Japan did in China, and the numbers of people affected? You are now speaking in an international forum-- you might want to think about your own POV if you would like to be taken seriouslyNobadda (talk) 08:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
