And the 8086 may have been used in personal computers before the 8088 came out

According to page 2 of this article, "The 8086 first appeared in a few unremarkable PCs and terminals.", and the article seems to indicate that the 8088 came out after that. I've been trying to find a good reference for an 8086-based personal computer that came out before the IBM PC (ideally, before the 8088 itself). Guy Harris (talk) 00:27, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

The edit in question was by a very persistent sock and would be deleted on those grounds in any case.
Speaking of which, the nick that did the table reorg has now revealed itself to be a sock of good ol' Janagewen. Now we get to revert its changes, but then fold your improvements to the address bits column back in. *sigh* Jeh (talk) 00:43, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Windows 8 a mobile OS?

Hi.

I've opened a hardware-related discussion that needs the point of view of someone as knowledgeable as you in the field. Would you mind dropping by at Template talk:Mobile operating systems § Windows 8 a mobile OS? Your input would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Office 2016?

Hi.

I think I should let a few (hopefully) interested editors, such as yourself, know about Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2015 January 31 § Microsoft Office 2016 because the RfD tag was deleted and the discussion is about to be closed in a day.

Best regards,

Do Not Trouble Me Anymore

I come here to correct misleading contents on computer science, and contribute useful and meaningful contributions to talk page. So do not trouble me anymore. About the IP sock puppet policy, I have already to suggest to eliminate this ridiculous and dirty thing at here. I should also remind of you, you are only a person on Wikipedia.org, but Wikipedia.org is for the people all over the world. Starvisionstar (talk) 23:00, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

I have yet to see Janagewen or any of his sockpuppets "correct misleading contents" or "contribute useful and meaningful contributions to talk page", not at least outside of a "contribution" style that causes far more trouble than it is worth. Janagewen's indefinite block was due to a long series of violations of WP's rules, following repeated warnings. I hope "you" will do better. And people all over the world must respect Wikipedia's rules, including WP:CIR and WP:MULTIPLE, and I will continue to report problems as I see fit. Good luck. Jeh (talk) 23:07, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
Jeh, you do make misleading more and more, please stop! I think the person should be reported and blocked is not anyone else but yourself! Such as your ridiculous explanation of 46-bit virtual address, 52-bit and PAE, and maybe more and more. Besides your revertions, I see nothing useful you contributed to Wikipedia.org for recent days. Starvisionstar (talk) 23:10, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
"Jeh, you do make misleading more and more, please stop!" What, exactly, was "misleading"? From now on, every time you use the "misleading" accusation or anything similar, it's going to be ignored unless you specifically quote which statements you think were "misleading", and how. Jeh (talk) 05:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
I think the person should be reported and blocked is not anyone else but yourself!" If you think I've done something against WP's policies and guidelines you can always open a case at WP:ANI, or wherever else you think is appropriate. (I hope you'll bring more evidence than the time Janagewen accused me of a 3RR violation when I had done no reverts at all to the reported page. "Misleading", indeed.) Jeh (talk) 05:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
"Such as your ridiculous explanation of 46-bit virtual address, 52-bit and PAE, and maybe more and more. " That would be forty-eight bit virtual addresses, and I don't know what you mean by "ridiculous explanation". Oh... was that the one that Janagewen said was a "great explanation"? Jeh (talk) 05:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
"Besides your revertions [sic], I see nothing useful you contributed to Wikipedia.org for recent days." That is just a "oh yeah? Well you too" response. Please offer something of more substance next time. In particular, I must state again that further empty accusations of "misleading" will simply be ignored. Jeh (talk) 05:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
"mislead": "To lead in a wrong direction or into a mistaken action or belief often by deliberate deceit". [1] (emphasis added) Pick a different accusation next time. Accusing me of being "misleading" is a violation of WP:AGF, at least. Jeh (talk) 22:46, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
@Starvisionstar: As the PAE talk page is not a place for personal disagreements, I have brought these other points here:
"I dislike you because you always try to block me out of Wikipedia.org. ... I should have respected you all the time, but what you done to my user account I lose my faith." Hm, well since @Starvisionstar: is a brand new account, to which I have done nothing (I see there is a current SPI report for that name, but I didn't start it, nor have I contributed to it), I must conclude that you're admitting here that this is not your first account on WP? And that your previous account was indef blocked? Which means you are currently using a second account in order to avoid a block?
I will now proceed on the assumption that you are in fact yet another sockpuppet for Janagewen (talk · contribs):
It's amusing that you complain about what I did to your account. The problem is entirely about what you did to your account! A search of WP:AN* archives will help you review. You're the one driving; don't blame the cops (i.e. admins) when you're pulled over for speeding... or when your license is taken away after multiple violations. Please do not make disruptive edits on talk page of PAE

The title of the same section on talk page PAE you have changed over much! Please do not make disruptive edits anymore! Calm down, and have a rest! Maybe months or years later, you are only welcome to contribute there! Or else you would be blocked from editing! This is a pre-warning!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.85.50.138 (talkcontribs)

Comment This ip seems to be a proxy, for its TCP port 80 is accessible.--Antigng (talk) 00:09, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Interesting... I didn't know that technique. Thanks! Jeh (talk) 00:23, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
To the IP: You are obviously yet another IP for Janagewen. Your objection is noted. However, renaming overly-long section heads is perfectly acceptable per WP:TALK; such an edit is not at all "disruptive", and I will continue to do it as I see fit. Heck, I even suggested a shorter name for that section some time ago, and there was no objection; in fact Janagewen even said "Sorry!" for creating such a long heading, so I believe I had the section creator's approval, not that that is really needed. Re. your "pre-warning", "would be blocked from editing", yeah, that'll get about as far as your 3RR report on me.
Really, Janagewen, you are in a very deep hole here on Wikipedia. I suggest you apply the "first rule of holes:" When you find yourself in one, stop digging. Jeh (talk) 00:22, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
