Saw your edit on We Love Katamari and wasn't sure of its purpose. You stated "Wikibooks does not contain game guides.", but not only are there many game guides on Wikibooks (including one for We Love Katamari), but I'm unaware of any prohibition against having game guides on Wikibooks. For now, I readded the link... Spectatrix 19:23, 7 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I *have* looked through Wikibooks policies and see no mention whatsoever of prohibitions on game guides. If you could provide a specific link, that would be much more useful. There's no mention of it at all on http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Game_Guides_and_Strategy or on http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Games_bookshelf, which seems very odd given what you've said. Wikibooks has had guide content for months, and I have a good feeling that the administrators know both the rules and the content. A game guide is on VfD for lack of content - not because it's a game guide, but because it's been a month since anyone edited it (until I did a thing on the first level). Clearly, if this was against policy, it would be a speedy delet candidate, and it is not. Cease your removal of the template, please. Have a nice day. - A Link to the Past (talk) 09:13, 8 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

That you people are fool enough to ignore Wikibook policy is not my fault. A game guide is not an educational reference - the content you are putting there does not belong. Feel free to ask Jimbo Wales his opinion of your material, he wants it all gone. Once again, for the slow, Wikibooks if for book thats can be used in educational courses, you cannot teach a class in a school about how to play a video game. I am not a administrator for wikibooks, but I am considering applying for the job now to toss this nonsense off. Janizary 15:52, 8 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Upon further investigation, I found some evidence of what you've been mentioning. However, the debate in question is NOT established policy and, as such, I feel that we should refrain here at Wikipedia from making judgements about what is and is not appropriate Wikibooks content. IF the restriction in Wikibooks policy passes, THEN we should remove links to inappropriate content -- however, doing so before then is presumptuous. Spectatrix 00:24, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Reading even further, it looks as though the plan would be to move the game guides to Wikicities rather than deleting the content altogether. If that's the case, I feel it would be more prudent to wait and see if the policy changes and the guides are moved, then change links as necessary. Spectatrix 00:29, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Images for deletion edit

If you nominate an image for deletion, you need to notify the uploader. This does not seem to have been done on Image:Divinebovine.jpg, et al. Please read "How to list images and media for deletion" on Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion if you have any questions on procedure. --Thanks Nv8200p (talk) 16:50, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Benevolent Dictator for Life edit

Hi. I realise now that it wasn't vandalism, however it gave all appearances of vandalism when I first came across it:

  • created by an IP user
  • included a number of articles that were particularly stubby, and looked like vanity pieces
  • a title that seemed very peculiar, and did not follow Wikipedia category naming conventions
  • and no other valid edits from the address, which might have convinced me it was a serious editor.

If you would care to comment at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 October 16#Category:Benevolent Dictator for Life it will help with the decision process on what to do with the (mis-named) category. Cheers. Noisy | Talk 19:39, 23 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I take it that the spelling in the Note on your user page is deliberate?  ;-) Noisy | Talk 19:45, 23 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
