- Hi, Chillum.
- Thank you for the welcome. I'm glad to be able to contribute when I come across materials that needs editing, as I did today with "supposedly" in a paragraph about consumer fireworks disrupting neighborhood life.
- I initially signed up to edit, received a sample page far beyond my expertise or interest, and was offered a different page. How do I get back into that pipeline?
- Yes, I've got a lot to learn and many pages of how-to to study, but I need to start there.
- Does Wikipedia need or want to know about experience/qualifications for editing?
- Thanks in advance for your help.
- Janet

Hello. I have responded to you here because I prefer this to email. Wikipedia allows any page to be edited by any editor who is working towards its goal of building a free encyclopedia. We do not require any specific qualifications from our editors but we do expect them to follow our goals as described in the 5 pillars of Wikipedia. To sign your name include 4 tildes like this ~~~~.
I do not sign my work with my name because articles in encyclopedias are not signed, but I do sign "Chillum" when I am engaging in a discussion. Chillum 17:13, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi. The Independent Florida Alligator entry sorely needs to be updated and to list editors and an array of well-known staffers from earlier decades. Those people are at the height of their careers, winning Pulitzers, running news organizations, and leading modern journalism in new directions. I will do this, but in the meantime would like to see the article marked as needing more information.
Thank you,
