Radio stations

Hi...please note that Wikipedia conventions for broadcast stations are that a radio station does not get separate articles for each different call sign it has used over the course of its history; the article goes at the current (or last) call sign only, and any other prior call sign is redirected to that one. So CJIC-AM does not get a separate article from CFYN, and CJIC-FM does not get a separate article from CHAS. Thanks. (Also, by the way, broadcast regulation doesn't actually recognize an "-AM" suffix; all AM radio stations in Canada and the United States are licensed with the four-letter CXXX call sign and no suffix. So Wikipedia policy has determined that when we need to disambiguate an AM station from other things with the same acronym, we use "(AM)" rather than "-AM".) Bearcat 19:50, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Also, Wikipedia articles cannot contain cross-namespace links to userpages, so I'm sorry, but you can't have the radio station articles link to your userpage. You're more than welcome to list your name and userpage link on the articles' talk pages, however. Bearcat 20:01, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

You can look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Radio Stations for radio, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Television Stations for TV. Policy development is always an ongoing process on here, though, so there may be some situations where something is unclear, but you can always post to the project talk pages for discussion and/or clarification if needed. Capitalization

Oh, I wasn't going for angry; I was actually trying to be lighthearted and a little tongue-in-cheek. It's not like you're the first person in the history of Wikipedia to capitalize job titles — which isn't necessarily wrong as such; it's just institutional/corporate style as opposed to "standard" written English style, and Wikipedia uses the latter. My edit summary wasn't actually directed at you in particular; it was actually just a playful jab at everybody who does the same thing. Nobody's trying to wreck your fun, don't worry about that. It was renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Article Improvement, and it includes two section. The first section is called articles in dire need of improvement. It list articles, usually important, that are in very poor shape. The second section is called requested help. Users list an article they request help improving a certain article, which will facilitate collaboration, which is the aim of any WikiProject. There is one article currently listed there, Henrik Lundqvist, here. The goal is to at least get it to Good article status. Diacritics By Maxim In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt. Task forces By Maxim There have been two new task forces started within the WikiProject to coordinate major topics. Sweden Ice Hockey task force This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES. New Jersey Devils task force This task force was initiated by Bsroiaadn. Its goal is to improve New Jersey Devils to Featured Topic status. Although it currently meets the required article count, the task force wishes to improve it further. Its area of coverage is very similar to the Sweden Ice Hockey task force. Its members are Bsroiaadn, JHMM13, FutureNJGov, Sportskido8, Michael Greiner, JRWalko, and Soxrock. Requested Images By Maxim After discussion on the WikiProject talk page, Serte created a page for Requested Images. The page encourages users to license images for use on articles. The page also has section to request images for players, arenas, game situations, miscellaneous, and team and league logos. The page has been quite popular; since it was created on July 21, there have been six completed requests. There are four currently outstanding requests: Patrik Eliáš — Photo of player, requested by Bsroiaadn Scott Stevens — Photo of player, requested by Bsroiaadn Daniel Alfredsson — Photo of player, requested by Maxim Hart Trophy — Photo of the original Hart Trophy (retired in 1960), requested by Scorpion0422 Article assessement completed By Maxim On July 12, Kaiser matias announced that he had completed assessing all the articles with a {{ice hockey}} tag, sorting them into Category:Unassessed Ice Hockey articles. Kaiser matias has ranked about 9000 articles in that category, and most were stubs, and "have no information at all", according to him. Everybody is encouraged to expand the stubs into real articles.
