Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Archive/April 2008

Hiya - just a quickie. EBot II was constantly archiving Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/ViperNerd, but without moving it from the main WP:SSP page - as you'll see from the archive history, it must have archived it a hundred or so times. I'd noticed that the page wasn't being cleared from WP:SSP but couldn't work out why not - I tried a couple of things, but nothing seemed to work. I've done it manually, and cleared up the mess, and don't know whether it's a problem with the bot, or if someone (or, indeed, I) had messed something up in another page which knocked onto ViperNerd. Thanks! GBT/C 11:01, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Talk:Ming Dynasty

No, not really, there's no need for further protection as the discussion is pretty much over; the new map that User:LaGrandefr has made is one that I cannot object to, as it combines aspects of both maps, separate ones that we were supporting but now they are one and represent both views. You can lift the protection now.--Pericles of AthensTalk 04:39, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Incorporation Meeting

Hi E, I responded to the mailing list. A meeting at the State Library sounds okay to me, although I'll still need to check that I'm not doing anything so that I don't pike on you fine gentlemen again. Lankiveil (speak to me) 10:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC).

User:212.219.189.60

Hello, you removed the notice from AIV about the above user, but I was making the comment that although they had been blocked yesterday for 7 days, they are editing today under the same anonymous ip address. I do not see how this can happen if anonymous edits by this user have been blocked. Can you advise me?  DDStretch  (talk) 13:58, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember doing this, are you sure you have the right person? Links would be appreciated also. — E talk aussie 04:15, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Did your bot really meant to archive the reports as repetitively as it did?! Regards, BencherliteTalk 21:25, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Don't know if it's connected, but there was an episode a bit earlier this month where it kept archiving the same page...have dug back into the archives and it was Vipernerds. I manually archived it here in the end, but have no idea what it was. It was adding it to the archive, but not removing it from WP:SSP, so kept adding it repeatedly. GBT/C 21:59, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
It seems to be a regex problem, if you could, can you please lodge a bug report at JIRA so I remember to take a look this weekend. Lodge it under E's Tools or ET category and mark it as EBotII@enwiki. Thank you, — E talk aussie 05:48, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Newsletter WP:SK request

Hello I recently added a request to have the SK newsletter delivered at requests. Let me know if you would like one member list or if it is ok to deliver to 3 lists. I have been doing it by hand, and we have quite a few receiving the news now, and this automated bot would be handy. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 23:49, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

It's fine for three, so I have   Approved. your request. — E talk aussie 11:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
