Hello Jacobariel91. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jacobariel91. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jacobariel91|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 16:44, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I am in no way being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I work at as a computer technician in Atlanta, GA who researches EV trends and topics on his own time as an enthusiast, and have no connection to the company in question for the draft page Electreon Wireless. Jacobariel91 (talk) 16:49, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Just curious why an EV enthusiast would make this edit. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:21, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:ElectReon Wireless, you may be blocked from editing. repeatedly re-submitting with zero improvement is likely to lead to you being blocked. Theroadislong (talk) 16:54, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, please refer to my message on your talk page. The draft text for Electreon Wireless has already undergone numerous third party reviews to ensure neutrality of language. Please provide examples as to how the text can be improved further. Furthermore, it's important that articles are reviewed with the same standard - I've contributed to competitor company articles that have been published with far more promotional text (see WiTricity). If you can't specify where in the draft text of Electreon Wireless it is too promotional, I ask that you re-review and approve the submission.

Final question as I think this is over. You say you have "contributed to competitor company articles that have been published with far more promotional text (see WiTricity)." Yet your edit history says otherwise. Can you please let us know the name of the account you used to edit these competitor pages?--CNMall41 (talk) 18:35, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Report made here in the event you would like to reply. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:26, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, a lot to unpack here. Hopefully I can provide some clarification to your claims:

The competitor page is promotional, yes - I used it as an example of what *not* to write. It was the baseline of text to understand as being not appropriate to Wikipedia. I am not sure why it was published or still live - I hope you can apply the same editing standards across all articles. It is important for Wikipedia's accuracy and verifiability.

I have already told you I have no relation with the company - you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts. I do not have a COI, I have never worked with or been in contact with someone at the company. Again, you can believe whatever you want, but the facts are the facts.

I am an EV enthusiast who wants to make more information available to end users about EVSE charging and it is therefore my desire to get articles about charging station technology companies published - especially those on the forefront of new charging standards. By external third party reviewers, I asked friends who work for local newspapers who have written academic and editorial entry articles in their career. There was no pay, it was done pro-bono, because they too believe in the future of EV charging and want to make information about the matter more available to the public.

"We" is myself and my third party reviewers (friends who helped in removing promotional text and modifying the article text to be more neutral). The fact that you want to assume that "we" is a marketing group hired by Electreon - again, you are entitled to your opinions, but not your own facts. You are free to believe what you want, but I have told you the facts. There is no COI/contact/relation with the submitters/reviewers of this page and the company Electreon Wireless.

Again, you have failed to point out which sections of the text are promotional, and you have accused of me of inaccurate, baseless claims with false assumptions, as well as have written a false report about my account to Wikipedia's Administration. I will need to raise this unfortunately to Wikipedia's Administrations to reconsider your account's privileges and access. (Jacobariel91 (talk) 10:41, 7 February 2022 (UTC))Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:28, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Just so you know, you don't need to place your signature within parentheses. 331dot (talk) 19:04, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

331dot (talk) 11:35, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
331dot Unfortunately, you are mistaken - all of the sources cited in the draft article are form independent sources researching the company's operations, cost, technology, and impacts. Trafikverket, Bloomberg, TRL, TASE, Green Car Reports are all independent agencies form the company and have significantly covered the topic of the draft article, as it is publicly operating company. In fact, the recent rejection have the draft had nothing to do about the sources, per the reviewer comments, but with "promotional" text, which itself has bene failed to be pointed out with specific examples. It is important that you understand the content you are reviewing or else you will not be able to make a fair assessment on the independent coverage of an article if you are not aware of the sources reputability and purpose of coverage. It is also important that Wikipedia administrators do not raise false COI reports about my account (as CNMall41 did) - reports which are baseless and unfounded and inaccurate. Further, EV's are not just "my topic" - they are millions of persons' topics and there is a growing need for access to information about electric vehicles and charging station companies, but you are failing to live up to Wikipedia's purpose of enabling access to information with significant presence and coverage (i.e. Electreon) due to your ignorance about the topic, sources, and inability to provide adequate feedback on promotional text. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

Bbb23 has blocked me and has made a false, baseless accusation against me that I "am making promotional edits in which I have a financial stake" or that I am a paid advocate of the draft pages I am submitting. This is not true, and it is an inappropriate abuse of account privileges to make false claims against my account which are not evidences in any fact. No one has paid me to write anything, there is no COI with the topic I am writing about. Making false accusations against another user on Wikipedia is a violation of the terms of use, and Bbb23 must understand that false claims and accusations devalue their authenticity and neutrality in being able to edit articles. I have explained numerous times that I have no "financial stake" in the topic I am editing, and yet I am continuously being accused otherwise. Jacobariel91 (talk) 17:29, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Promotion does not require a financial stake. Conduct remains incompatible with collaborative editing environment. Jacobariel91, I suggest you think before further replies as we're trending closer to losing talk page access Star Mississippi 20:15, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Jacob, I did not block you only for your WP:COI, but also, as noted in the block log, for promotion, WP:IDHT, and your failure to heed the warnings at WP:ANI. I should also add your incivility and personal attacks against other editors. I received your e-mail, which is pretty much what you said in your unblock request. Please do not send me any more e-mail, or I will disable it.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:08, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Bbb23 You don't have to lie about me "not heeding the warnings of AMI" - if addressing all the comments, feedback, and review points of the other editors if "not feeding the warnings" - then you are lost, and I wish you the best of luck in finding the help you need. You don't need to lie in order to justify your false accusations for blocking. The other editors accused me of being promotional, having a COI, gave me review feedback on my submission - and I addressed all of it. For you, and the rest, you don't like being proven wrong, or standing corrected, so you dispel your "block" feature in order to avoid engaging in actual constructive feedback and improvement of an article, which is what I was doing today until you decided to block. Really, I hope you learn one day that your behavior is contrary to the spirt and purpose of this site - and that includes submitting and improving drafts based on feedback from the Wikipedia community, which is what I was doing. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by saying all this, but sometimes the truth hurts. Jacobariel91 (talk) 19:46, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
