Speedy deletion nomination of File:Portrait of Kent Hovind.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Portrait of Kent Hovind.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

The permission given is incompatible with a CC BY-SA 3.0 license

April 2015 edit

Your recent editing history at Kent Hovind shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You realize that Hovind saying he uses scientific evidence is useless as a source, right? We need actual mainstream scientists saying that. --NeilN talk to me 16:25, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

The lead is a summary of the article. So long as the sources are in the main body of the article, they don't need to be repeated in the summary. Dougweller (talk) 16:37, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Final warning edit

You are engaged in advocacy of a fringe point of view at Kent Hovind. This is out of line with our policies. Several people have pointed out to you that Wikipedia is a reality-based project and does not reflect minority religious dogmas as fact. If you continue as you are, then you will be blocked from editing. Guy (Help!) 08:37, 28 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Jacob, I am also one of the people removing your links to the Kent Hovind page. Kent Hovind has never provided scientific evidence for his claims. The only evidence he has ever produced is biblical references and pseudoscience nonsense. Please consult WP:RS for what is and what is not a reliable source. PS: Youtube is not a reliable source. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 15:32, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

April 2015 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Kent Hovind. That was not merely 'fixing grammar' You are editing against consensus, STOP IT NOW. Dbrodbeck (talk) 12:25, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Jacob to address you question, in the Ken Hovind article itself, here:Kent_Hovind#Criticism_from_creationists and here:Kent_Hovind#Criticism_from_creationists are all the claims with citations and reliable sources and there is no scientific evidence to any of his claims. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 13:49, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Jacob, have you read ANY of the other warnings on your talk page? You are engaging in an edit war. You have been warned MULTIPLE times. If you wish to make an edit on Kent Hovind's page, you MUST discuss it on Kent Hovind's talk page BEFORE. End of story. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 13:49, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Portrait of Kent Hovind.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Portrait of Kent Hovind.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 19:10, 5 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:21, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
